Grazul or Mitsuko? Help plz, I'm stumped

Hi, I’m 4 months in and have acquired enough mats to max 1 of each color 5*.

Already started final ascension for Kingston (vs Lianna and Evelyn, both 3.70)

Started final Ursena (vs Victor and Sartana, both 3.70)

And started final Neith (vs no one, only yellow 5* atm)

I have 0 blue 5*, so that’s that.

Since it takes so, so long for mats, I’m a bit stumped with red. I could do Mitsuko or Grazul.

I’ve finished Atlantis hard mode already using;
Wukong +5-- Eve/Kingston 3.70-- Kiril +5-- Rigard +5-- Mitsuko 3.70 (mostly)

TP 3550 now 3650

I hover in raids average 2100. Worked up to diamond a couple times before being quickly pummeled back down using the same team mentioned above on offense. I do go 2-1-1-1 and 3-2 sometimes, rarely 4-1 with my current limitations. I attack average 4k players, mostly out of necessity.

SO!.. I’m leaning Mitsuko over Grazul as this is my D team;

I kinda like the blue and yellow reflect on offense or D. Or can put Triton on left wing with Grazul and Neith/Mits flanks, will get the 2 bonus. And when Proteus and Gaderus are leveled, 4 bonus. (15% def)

I wouldn’t put Grazul tank. Ursena or Mitsuko could swap tank/flank roles, depending on effectiveness on D. Grazul wouldn’t be for titans as I can antidote. Mits can do titans while not the best.

I’m trying really to figure out the most annoying raid defense with my current chars. Does Mitsuko or Grazul fit into the long term picture better? Probably be a while until I get the mats again. I’m used to Mitsuko on offense so there’s +1 for her. AOE 3 hit, the AI is kinda ineffective on def. But with Grazul the AI is even worse being the immunity is 2 turns.

I have Kingston for GM and crew, so I can heal through it with Rigard/Kiril. Seems Grazul with another healer or Triton would be needed with her. Neith is surprisingly pretty good but definitely should be fast instead of average. On the other hand, the blind is kind of amazing. 35% seems more like 50%. So many combinations.

Grazul is really good on offence but not so much for defense. Mitzuko is decent at both. You should really try to plan ahead for your emblems though. Ursena Mitzuko both sorcerers, Neith Kingston Rangers. Grazul being cleric might be a viable option if you plan on her getting them.

Exactly part of the problem going Mitsuko. Ursena seems best for that. Neith may get the emblems, we’ll see. Thanks for the reminder, for sure a case for Grazul. Now I’m leaning Grazul

Though Kingston is a fighter and will take Boldtusks emblems, unfortunately.

Dang. Tough decision. I actually use them on the same team for war. Grazul is pretty amazing against kunch, grave, drake… etc. but something cool about watching the opponent die from the blue reflect.

I think I’d side on grazul… Vf mana speed. Heal. Immunity. I’d actually contemplate maxing another if I had one. Maybe I’m just weird.

I actually have Mitsuko maxed and Grazul is at 4/79. Mitsuko is good, but there are so many cringe moments with her. She’ll charge with tiles that will charge the blue hero. One turn too late, thanks for nothing Mitsuko…

I’d also vote Grazul.

I have Mitsuko and love her. She’s amazing. It takes a while to get the timing of the reflect right, but she’s a huge asset against Isarnia and most blue corner snipers or average flanks.

That said, I’m going to favor Grazul here. Her ability is unique, you have no other five star healers, and note that Ursena and Mitsuko’s reflects overwrite each other. Having them on the field at the same time is not optimal for their special skills (where they have anti-synergy) or for emblems.

Wow! Thank all of you! I did not know their reflects overwrite each other. And all of y’alls points are awesome. Made it an easy decision now.

And I do hate when you get that last unintended hit to make Mitsuko fire late. Happens sorta often.

Mitsuko and Grazul are great since I have both anyway.

But your team lacks serious firepower once Ursena is dead. You only have Kingston.

Evelyn - for dispel
Neith - time stall
Kingston - finisher

Mitsuko is great at tank but lacking once she becomes flank. Grazul would be the better choice among the 2 at flank if you have another high DPS yellow.

My choice would be Marjana.

That would have been a good choice, I overlooked that. I already ascended Grazul but still happy. Figure I have a better chance for another sniper mats with Marjana, Sartana, Lianna but Marj fits best there. Was also hoping to get a good 5* blue to fill that gap. TC 20 about to get running for the first time, christmas and atlantis summon coming… bound to get a 5* blue… right?.. right.

Oh that’s right! Didn’t realize January is blue HotM. More prudent to wait. But I’m sure I’ll pull for no good reason anyways.

Personally I have Grazul maxed and on my defense. I don’t have Mitsuko but facing her in raids i have never been impressed from a defensive stand point. She is squishy and as long as they don’t take any blues that do damage she really doesn’t cause much of an issue.

Mits isn’t very squishy. Her base stats are better than marj who’s got the best stats of the S1 5* reds.

Mitsuko and Grazul are both great, some of the best red 5*s, and I think are both better than Marjana, in a vacuum, but with your roster neither is a great fit.

Mitsuko will compete with Ursena for emblems, who is basically a better version of Mitsuko, and having both on your defense compromises both since the reflects overwrite. Mitsuko is great on offense where you can control her special timing, but somewhat mediocre against titans with lackluster tile damage and a special that doesn’t bring much to the table.

Grazul is generally pretty poor on defense. Her heal isn’t enough to worry an attacker, most of the time, and the status immunity is pretty easy to work around. She is great on offense, like Mitsuko, with control over her special timing, but she is so tanky that I find she does decently well at 3.70.

Strictly between your two options I would go with Mitsuko. Maxing her will bring a lot more damage to the table, as well as toughen her up, while Grazul is basically just going to get tougher without improving her contributions otherwise, assuming her special is already maxed. Yes, being tougher will make it easier for her to use her special before dying, but this is true for both. I think Grazul should generally be like a 3rd or 4th red 5*, depending on the specifics of the roster.

All I know is she has never caused me issues when facing her. But like i said I dont have her and have just faced her defensively. Offensively may be another story all together

I agree. When she’s in the defensive line up, I just don’t take blues, like you said. She’s played an integral role in some of my war and raid wins offensively with her reflect but timing can be an issue since she’s average speed. I’m glad I maxed her for diversity, but I would still max grazul first.

I have both Mitsuko and Grazul maxed. Mitsuko shines without emblems and can survive a punch. That reflect is amazing. You can raid blue attackers without bringing any greens, attack with a 4-1 or 3-2 stack in favor of the defenses most feared hero. She sees so much action for me. Raids, defense, wars, even titans as a 5th mono for the tile damage (726 tile dmg on mine, so not bad). Grazul is great too, but gets little use compared to Mitsy. I even put her as my tank sometimes and does quite well. Solid, worth every ring.

I agree with this statement in general. However, speaking strictly from an offensive standpoint, I think it bears further scrutiny. Part of the reason Mitsuko is highly effective is the prevalence of blue heroes in positions where Mitsuko can get the reflect up in time. For example, only on the worst boards (or if Mitsuko gets killed) do I fail to have her ready against a corner Isarnia. The analogous situation for Ursena is…what? A corner Justice or Owl? That’s not a common lineup configuration, whereas corner Isarnia IS.

Mitsuko is a superstar for me, making nearly a third of my raid teams and posting a winning percentage around 94%. I don’t have Ursena, but I am doubtful I would get as much usage out of her.
