Existing purples worth acending?

My current Purple Team is

Costume Rigard + 18
Tibertus+CB+18
Sergei+LB+20
Malicna+LB+18
Sartana+18

I have Lvl5 mana troops on Rigard and Tibertus, and lvl23 mana troop on malinca

with nine tiles all heros are loaded and usually are able to deal crippling damage to the opponent.

i have not leveles any other purples 5* because i deemed them not worth ascending due to scarcity of 4* mats especially damascus blades, due to that i have collected 30 tabards as of now.

I have the following purples that I could ascend
Quintus, Obakan, Sartana, Sargasso, Domitia
No costumes for any of those

Any arguments for leveling these heros/adding them to my purple mono team?

domitia i received today from HA is the only hero i think might we considerable also because i have some spare rogue emblems and i lack a debuffer, but since she is average speed she wont make the cut vs. sartana in the purple team.

i was thinking about maybe replacing tibertus, however his def down is crucial to increase malicnas hit 3 damage.

up obakan do add another fast hit 3 hero and replace sartana, this would ensure three dead heros on nine tiles via the special combo

no talents for obakan though which makes him squishy

I wouldn’t make any changes for the reasons you’ve already stated.
If you level a hero, don’t do it for upgrading that mono team.
Perhaps you could use Domitia on titans for the defense buff.

After her buff I like my Domitia more than Sartana for offence, you having emblems also helps with the decision.

Her damage is great and her skill is always needed.

Food for thought, I used Malicna to replace Tiburtus completely. 2/3 of the time Malicna will drop D. They were also a complicated pairing.

• Tiburtus’ D drop is better than 1/3 of Malicna’s options. Not sure it was better enough to warrant taking a valuable hero slot.

• Malicna does have a 1/3 chance to not drop D. In that case they pair well.

• 1/3 of Malicna’s options is far superior to Tiburtus.

The way I saw it is 1 option is better than Tiburtus, 1 option isn’t as good but is good enough (a D drop is still a D drop), and, finally, an other doesn’t drop D. An A drop is still helpful in rather than drop their D to kill faster, you drop A to survive better to kill them . Really though Tiburtus offers a really significant benefit over her only 33% of the time.

Plus, if I fire Malicna for damage after Tibs I am
essentially stuck with Malicna’s option anyway as Tibs’ ability won’t even last a single turn 2/3 of the time. You can get into the option of firing Malicna first and holding fire to see what she does. Then you’re holding fire for multiple turns and decreasing damage to avoid overwrites. That holding back can swing a battle.

Malicna survives better too in diamond naturally as a 5*. D drop is great, but great enough to warrant two hero slots on a team to keep one a a back up to the other? Typically adding a 5th ability from a different hero will increase versatility.

Running mono means her elemental link has a bigger impact too.

I found it more beneficial to use a 5th hero slot for a hero with different complimentary abilities than deal with the convoluted, and somewhat marginally beneficial, relationship between Malicna and Tiburtus.

I am not saying it is wrong to pair them, as everyone is different, but maybe using this perspective gives a few options to try and explore with your leveling options. If nothing else you can be more confident in your current path if after trying some things and sticking to your current plans.

For what it is worth I don’t mono but will typically boost A with a Boldtusk or Kiril (I still don’t have Rigard’s costume), then boost special A with Glenda (optional), fire Malicna to drop D, then blast Quintus +20. That is pretty devastating. My 5th is usually a sniper to finish off something critical. Plenty of other uses though.

If you fight against taunt or riposte heroes, you need a debuffer. Tiburtus defdown is partially redundant with malicna, so you can substitute tiburtus with domitia in those battles.

Against taunt or riposte teams without status ailment casters, I substitute cRigard with Sabina+20
