Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

Anti cleanse effect. Something new

Ideal to combine with Ana-Belle…

By removed it means cleansing and overwriting it with attack up?

What does journey to the west have to do with WO3K?

Oh that’s actually really good if that happens

Perfect name for a SS being cast on the playerbase.

I was going to say the same thing. There’s no correlation at all.

Not to mention disrespectful to Chinese cultural folklore. And Chinese history.

I bet SGG wouldn’t do the same to their beloved epic Kalevala but they don’t see the problem in doing this to another culture.

Will be interesting in Equalizer war.

I can´t even keep up - A Journey Hero? That´s a new event kind of, or what?

Ooook. New rule for me. Just let things hit live, before diving into it!

Glad you like the artwork, even though it’s not accurate since that Er Lang Shen is from Journey To The West.

I won’t say it disrespectful, but more towards ignorant.

Er Lang Shen is considered a god, Taoist but still a god. He’s still worshipped today. With temples dedicated to him.

The artwork didn’t include his unique feature, his all-seeing 3rd Eye. Maybe that’s where Zynga/SGG try to be not obvious at depicting a God that’s still worshipped currently. Is that disrespectful ? Or just trying to be culturally-sensitive, a tad? If they want to use him as a hero card, go right ahead but at least be accurate in the depiction.

Including him as a journey hero is fine. But he’s not part of W3K in anyway. At least put him in a unique event: Journey to the West, with Wu Kong, the Piggy character and the monk. Plus all the other interesting creatures, mostly villains.

FYI: I am not Taoist. I generally steer clear of using religious characters in a game to avoid offending any player.

Question - Say the target, after hit by Erlang Shen’s special, has 400 hp left. If a hero such as Aino and Ana-Belle (who cleanses first before heals) casts special, is there a sequence of these events happening? Technically, if the 502 damage will take place immediately after the cleanse, then this target will be killed before he is receiving any healing. Same for Tarlak, who buffs attack first before heals. Assume this will also count as cleansing the attack down?

Can beta testers comment on this mechanism?

So it sounds like there will be more heroes in this family-Journey? I’m surprised they put him in with the W3K event instead of creating a new event. Looking forward to seeing more heroes from this family. I feel like they should buff Wu Kong or raise him to a 5* hero or create another Wu Kong (like Black Myth). But probably not going to happen due to copyrights?

Guan Yu has a wider number of worshippers, my family included. I don’t have any issue with this hero at all.

Other than giving him an event bonus in Wo3k

Yeah… Journey to the West is one of 4 great classical novels of Chinese literature… Wo3K is actually another one of the 4. So there are plenty of characters that they can use to create heroes. Wu Kong (or Monkey King) is actually the main character of Journey to the West actually, so curious to see how SG plans to address this lol

The story is hundreds of years old. Public domain now

Guan Yu is depicted more faithfully than Er Lang Shen, who is missing his All-Seeing Eye.

If he’s going to be a Journey hero, and he’s still a current Taoist God, then he should at least be depicted as faithfully as Guan Yu is depicted. That’s my point.

And what about being overwrite by another atk down ailment like from Killhare costume ?
