This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the Round 6 of the Journey Hero - Xie Zi Jing.

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

*There are a total of one (1) new heroes added to Beta for testing.

*The name of the new hero is:

  • Legendary: Xie Zi Jing

Journey Family:

Heroes become stronger when teamed with other unique Heroes of the same family.

Bonus for 1 / 2 / 3 Heroes:
50% / 75% / 100% chance to increase the duration of each status effect that is cast by the hero by 1 / 2 / 3 turns.

Morale Boost

Heroes belonging to this family as well as Heroes fighting alongside them receive the following perks in War of the Three Kingdoms:

  • +10% attack, +3% defense, +7% health

Special Skill: Wrathful Sting

  • Dispels buffs from the target.
  • The Special has 100% chance to ignore Dodge effects.
  • Target and nearby enemies receive 894 Poison damage over 3 turns. This effect can’t be cleansed.

Another Russell-esque hero. Useful against all the dodgers as buffs are removed first, and probably good it’s only against one target
 Although I imagine in a month or two we’ll have one against ‘target and nearby’

Is it in this order, so the dodger can still dodge the dispel?

After specials immune to silence/mindless and immune to taunt, it’s natural to have specials immune to dodge. In a while they’ll release silence/taunt/dodge immune to the immune specials and so on. The uncleansable damage is what Pirate Lady should have too

It makes sense that they would have the ignore dodge mechanic after the dispell, given that they made non-direct damage specials dodgeable as well.

So, the target could lose their taunt and the dodge. The allies to the sides would keep their dodge, but they would be guaranteed to be hit by the poison DoT.

Very tactical hero, but will be interested to see what the final number on that poison DoT is

Sometimes I feel its funny they use the chinese name for these characters
 and why 9 headed beast is not called Jiu Tou Guai.

Heads up for anyone who doesn’t know mandarin.
Xie zi èŽć­ means scorpion
So it’s a literal translation to scorpion demon, or scorpion spirit
