🧪 Early Information on Legendary Troops [Part of The Beta Beat v63]

NOTE: Please do not, under any circumstances, share IMAGES OR VIDEOS from Beta in this or any public Forum thread. Violations can cause players to lose their Beta accounts, or threads to be closed down.

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the initial release of the Legendary Troops.

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

New Legendary Troops

There are 10 new Legendary troops per each element.
There is one troop for each hero class and element.
So there are 50 new troops in total.

In V63 Beta 5 the troop levels are reduced from 50 to 30, and mana generation increase at max level is reduced from 15% to 11%.

The Legendary troops have 50 30 levels, and at fully leveled state they give various stat boosts, and 15% 11% mana generation increase.

The troops can be used on any hero classes, but they give extra stat boosts and a passives for main and secondary classes

Legendary Troop Class specific Passives

Legendary Troop properties

The Troop names seems to be the same for each element, and their propeties, class and passive is the same for each element per troop name.

The troops gives these stat increases on the main and the seconday class at max (50 30) level:

  • +11% 6% attack
  • +11% 6% defense
  • +15% health

They also give a specific Passive for these two classes.

The troops have these propeties on max (50 30) level:

Level progression of the Legendary troops

Legendary Troop leveling needs Food and Iron too, and of course feeder troops.
Class specific properties are only changed at every 10 level, where there is an Emblem cost too on reaching these levels.

Food is no longer needed for leveling, but the Iron cost seems to be doubled.

Legendary Troop Summon

Legendary Troops can be pulled from this portal.
The portal includes classic troops only.
So there is NO Ninja, Styx or Magic Troop in it.
Only 2 class linked Legendary Troop classes are pullable for each element at the any time.
The featured linked pullable troop classes will be rotated in the later occurences of the portal.

In V63 Beta 4 the summon costs and chances are set

Apperance Rates

  • Rare Troop: 83%
  • Epic Troop: 15% 14%
  • Legendary Troop: 2%. 3%

Summon Cost

1x Pull: Unknown. It costs 100 gems in Beta 300 gems
10x Pull: Unknown. It costs 300 gems in Beta. 2600 gems

Epic Troop Tokens are not usable in the portal.

Legendary Troop Bonus Chest

Now a bonus chest is added to Legendary Troops Summon in V63 Beta 4.
In V63 Beta 5 the chest count is increased from 3 to 5.

Example 1: 1x Trainer Troop, 2 * 30x Class Emblems
Example 2 : 2x Trainer Troop, 30x Class Emblems
Example 3: 1x Trainer Troop, 100k Food Bundle, 30x Emblems

Troop Conversion

Epic Troops can be converted to Legendary Troops from the same element in the Barracks.
Trainer Troops are not convertable to Legendary Troop.

Level 26 troops or above can be converted to Legendary Troop, but this treshold rises after conversions.
(In Beta it is set them to be covertable 10 levels lower, but Staff said it will available from level 26 in the live game)

In V63 Beta 4 the Food cost is removed, and the iron cost is reduced to 20K.
In V63 Beta 5 the Iron cost is increased to 200K

The selected troop is consumed, and these extra materials too:

  • 100K 0 Food
  • 100K 20K 200K Iron
  • 300 Emblems of the selected troop’s main class

You are receiving a level 1 Legendary Troop after the conversion:

The conversion is instant, but there is a cooldown between conversions.
In Beta it is10 minutes, but it will take 28 days in the live game.
Another conversion can not be starting during another cooldown is not elapsed.
This cooldown time can not be skipped with Gems.

This is the only content im waiting for… Troops never betray our diligent work. I just hope that, lvl 1 legendary troops is as good as lvl 26 troops.

Also this is just my wishfull thinking but, reducing the troop requirement from lvl26 to lvl23 will have a better effect. Hope they would consider lowering it

Only the old 4* mana troops can convert into 5* or all types of 4* troops can be converted as long as they are level 26?

Some extra info:
It seems now there will be Legendary Trainer Troops too.

And the legendary troops are competely reworked.
Now they give extra benefits to 2 classes.
Instead of fix number stat boosts every number is now a perctange based.
And now all Legendary Troops gives +15% mana generation.
If you apply them on the proper hero classes then the stat boosts are also some other effect too.

Any troops can be converted @Ushio

And now there is also a Legendary Troop portal.

I am collecting all information, and when it is ready I will add the topic(s) for these.

The classes are fixed. For example monk and sorcerer are combined so there is one monk/sorcerer troop and one sorcerer/monk troop. Theyhave slightly different stats.

At level 50 they do. Up to level 24 (what I’ve tested) the mana boost is only 5%.
This removes the penalty for using a mana troop. I still think I’ll plan to get rid of my crit troops this way.

They are so generous, as expected!

obviously they’ll never make leveling troops faster, will they?
They can beta test dragon troops too fwiw, but at the actual rate of levelling i don’t care the least about troops, it’s not worth the time and resources. It takes me months and months to upgrade one single level of a single 3s troop. Damn, even 2s troop for rare challenges/3s tourneys are a pain in the a**

Level 29 mana troop has 26% attack, 18% defense, 19% healing, and 15% mana
A level 50 legendary troop has class depending stats, but using barbarian/druid as an example would have 39% attack, 29% defense, 39% health, and 15% mana. Definitely an upgrade. No question about it.

The full class bonus is 11% attack, 11% defense, and 15% health, so small bonus but still helpful. It also comes with an additional bonus (similar to passives).

At level 25 those numbers are 23%, 18%, 27%, and 10%. So that’s roughly comparable. Slightly less attack, no healing, but huge health, and big mana drop.

Using every single feeder I have, I can get one troop up to level 49, where 15% mana comes. That’s a rough breakpoint. It makes it hard to recommend anyone use a current mana troop to convert, because if you only have one, it’s unlikely you’ll have the feeders to get up to level 49.

I should note that to get to level 49 it would cost 40M food and 40M iron in addition to 133K xp (I started with best troops so this was not the most efficient way)

That 10 to 15% mana boost is tough.

10% is enough if you have a costume or a talent node for average or slower heroes. But fast heroes need 15%. You need a little bit more to really get a value add tradeoff here.

I see two paths for myself, both involve keeping my level 29 mana troop.
1 Sacrifice my second best troop. I generally have a level 23 troop for each element. I can do a little leveling and sacrifice that. I lose the ability to have a second fast hero, but this keeps my main troop and gets the legendary troop the highest.

2 Sacrifice the crit troop. I have crit troops in each color ranging from level 12 to 20. I could level them, and sacrifice them. I essentially don’t use them today, so even a 5% mana boost is a bonus. That new troop would become my second best troop (and eventually my best one).
It will cost 19M food and 48K xp to get my level 12 crit troop up to 27 to be sacrificed. That’s a lot, but in the long game of E&P this is probably the better play because I’m not losing anything I use today.

The hardest part is picking the class. What works today won’t work in the future. SG can monitor which troops are picked and release heroes in new classes where the least common troops are picked. I won’t worry about this too much as you can’t plan for it. If i happen to get a new great hero, I won’t worry that I don’t have the class troop for it.

Well they did. food cost is down and troop xp is up.
My level 29 mana troop using a 2 star troop in live game costs 165K food and gives 90xp
In beta it costs 67K ham and gives 205 xp

So food costs less than half as much and xp more than doubled. So troop leveling is now 5x faster by rough estimate?

There is a potential bug that increased xp needed for troops by a bit, but SG says it may be a bug so don’t get too attached, but don’t panic if you see people saying this elsewhere

Can we use critical troops to become legendary troops? Sorry, I’m really still confused.

for the legendary troop or for the base troop too?

Yes, is there a reason you think you wouldn’t be able to sacrifice crit troops or any particular type of troop? As long as they meet the level requirement they work.

xp of a feeder is the same on both current troops and legendary troops

well that’s something i thought i would never read ever on a beta thread :scream:
it will still be the longest grind i suppose, but every improvement in the process is welcomed

Does this portal uses ETT‘s or other currency?

Happy gaming

Zynga expects players to push epic troops to 26, and then convert them to legendary troops (class dependent), starting again at level 1 to 50 to get 15% mana, thereby requiring player to obtain other mana boosts somewhere (bard, family bonus, buff, etc) ?

Sounds like an exercise to engage top tier players, who already have >5 maxed mana, Styx, magic troops, and can spare some to be converted to Legendary troops. Another avenue to earn money from sales of trainer troops and ham crates.

Troop level must be level 26 before you can change to legendary troops lv 1? that is right?

Thank you in advance Ruskin.

Idk ppl might convert their regular manas as they are 15% stick with Wizard/Styx cos they are 20%.
I don’t really want to lose a precious troop and might stick with epix tbh and let the ppl that sink money get their legendaries.

This is a huge slap in the face for the FTP users. Why couldn’t we use the troop portal and only add the legendary troop summons from time to time? As we use the epic hero tokens on the seasonal portals, when open.

I have been slacking on troops, and this will get me further behind… yay?
