šŸ§Ŗ Early Information on General Hero Balance Updates [Part of The Beta Beat v30]

Horghall is my first 5* hero, and I still use him - simply, I donā€™t have 30 better heros for warsā€¦ However, if bunch of old heros is going to get a buff, he definitely needs some help. :slight_smile: At least, make him a bit tougher, with some defense increase. Or, increase a bit his attack statsā€¦
I will try to get him a costume next week, but the odds are pretty lame. :joy:

Hmmā€¦ Not sure if I like this. These old heroes need some love, they are already light years behind.

That, and the higher damage, quite strongly makes me want to up him now. A little slower tham Zim and without the attack buff, but hitting like a monster truck. Interesting where this is going. Letā€™s see what July HotM is, those 6 rings may be used sooner rather than later.

Soā€¦ increase direct damage but lower the attack. I donā€™t think that helps him. Part of me says it should be both. Wonder what were the beta impressions on him that led to this adjustment. But this I think is way to little of a buff to take him out of the bin. Not with the very little base attack he has. Probably that Guardian Kong deals more damage now at average than Owl at very slow, and he doesnā€™t care how many enemies are alive.

Yeah, Iā€™ve got him at 3.70 and wondering if heā€™s worth ascending now.

I really like these buffs. Here are some more Iā€™d like to see:

  • Reduce Khaganā€™s damage, increase speed to Average

  • Increase Horghallā€™s damage to 280%

  • Increase Justiceā€™s damage to 290% (or reduce it to 220% & make it average, so sheā€™s still at least visibly better than Hu Tao)

  • Increase Azlarā€™s damage from 205% to 230%. In his current state, since heā€™s not worth maxing, Colen is better than he is. I think as a general rule, a 3-70 5* should be better than a 4-70 4*.

  • I donā€™t even know what to do with Thorne :laughing: +30% Special Skill defense for 3 turns?

  • Make Obakanā€™s nearby allies counterattack too

  • Increase Quintusā€™s damage from 270% to 285%

  • Add ā€œ+36% mana generation to self for 5 turnsā€ to Guardian Owlā€™s skill, possibly making him terrifying as he should be if left alive for so long

  • Let Mok-Arrā€™s special skill still do half damage vs. dark opponents

  • Add ā€œTargets get -54% Defense vs. Darkā€ to Sargassoā€™s skill

  • Increase Boss Wolfā€™s counterattack damage from 115% to 125%?

  • Increase Grimbleā€™s damage to 250%

  • Reduce Thoth-Amunā€™s damage to 185%-ish and make him Very Fast? ĀÆ_(惄)_/ĀÆ Iā€™ll admit Iā€™m a bit crazy for suggesting it, but he could sure get interesting

  • And about this chameleon:

Is this even a buff? If you ask me, it just makes color swapping more predictable. This will make it easier to fight the chameleon when itā€™s on defense. I think fighting the chameleon with colors swapped is easier than fighting it with colors frequently swapping back & forth. Thatā€™s some head-bending. Iā€™ve already said what Iā€™d like to see for the chameleon:

They finally figured how crappy and utterly useless Margaret was/is. Honestly, even with these buffs, sheā€™s maybe now usable but not a good hero. That dodge skill is not a great component.

Hey SG, want to impress me, make her skill, 50-90% chance, then she can be of some real value.

Also, I think they pulled they bait and switch again with all the initial buffs to the TC20 heroes only to do nothing to them. Better to make us chase costumes then give ftp and chance in the game.

(SG gives the proverbial finger to ftp/ctp players)

This would be a nerf for GC. As it currently stands, the color shift makes green and red heroes one increment more vulnerable to green tiles. As for blue heroes, theyā€™re already vulnerable, so you wait until they shift back before hitting them with powered up tiles. Which is why aligning the color shift with the attack bonus is actually a stealth nerf to GC.

I figured theyā€™re just relying on costumes for these S1 heroes.

The costumes it another heroes with the same names, you have to pay for them.

I dont know about horghall but khagan and gormek didnt get buff cuz they will get costumes :slight_smile:

It appears theyā€™ll have no changes made, but itā€™s possible theyā€™ll decide otherwise.

Wow. I understand Gormek, since the reaction to his changes was so bad, but Horghall and Khagan are regularly mocked on the boards for being ineffective. Canā€™t believe they tried to buff them (a popular idea) and then just decided to let them be. Weird.

I disagree. Khagan would be no more threatening than Atomos. Both would be tough hitters that buff, nothing too drastic.

Kong was already a very solid heroā€¦ Better than Azlar in almost every sense, and Azlar is hardly terrible.

Huge AoE for average mana, high tile damage AND cleanse? Easy A grade after thisā€¦ could even surpass Panther as the most desirable guardian - that good!

Honestly if this sticks, Iā€™m ascending a second one.

Heā€™s already good, hugely underrated (think Azlar is ok? Kong is better in almost every sense)ā€¦
With both buffs? Easy A+ in attack. Still not a defender, but not every worthwhile hero is.

Iā€™ve got the Horghall costumeā€¦ itā€™s still not enough to convince me to take Horghall above 3-70.

Anyway, if that were their sneaky plan, would they have reverted them before the costume chamber opens, thus giving us time to see theyā€™re not being buffed after all and decide not to pull? A dirty dealer would have dragged it out until we already had.

Heā€™s already good pre-buffsā€¦ If these buffs stick, heā€™s seriously good.

What are your other options?

Iā€™m so happy for my Margaret lol already kinda liked her at 3/70 in a ā€˜I heart the underdogā€™ kinda way but now I might stop leveling Kadilen and go for Margie. What do you all think?
