This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on Dragon Delivery

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

Dragon Delivery

There is a Delivery progress under the Idle chest on the left, and you can see the progres on it. Example: 0/14.

Once you have opened a Idle chest, then you see a “Send!” text instead of the progress, and in the tooltip the Current Progress: 0/14 is changed to “Your Delivery is ready to be sent.”, and a Send Delivery button is visible.

If you open furher Idle Chest while the Send button is active, then those opened chests are not counted towards the next Dragon Delivery.

Once the user clicks on it, then a dialog is shown:

Once you go to your Stronghold there is a present Icon shown in one of the Tower (where VIP Dragon sit).

By clicking on the Icon you can collect the loot.

Example Loots:

Dragon delivery is set to 1 in beta, but won’t be that when released.

Just did 2 more deliveries
Chest 5: 2 gems, 5 star aether, 4 star aether, 1 ME, 50 emblems
Chest 6: 3 gems, 1 summon token, 1 alpha aether, 5 star aether, 4 star aether, 1 ME, 50 emblems

Seeing that first alpha aether is reassuring.

Deliveries also come with food, iron, and other low level items that don’t show up in recent activity

Oh so if I understand correctly, the Idle Chest can give rewards for both Dragonspire and for Stronghold? If so, nice! More loot is always welcome

The two idle chests only provide dragon rewards. But a third “chest” has a counter. When you’ve. Collected enough of the idle chests, you can send the delivery and get rewards for the base game.

It works like Ruskin mentioned.

Right now 1 Idle chest needed for this 3rd chest, but I giesiit this goes live, then the needed chest count will be higher.

Thank you both for clarifying!!!

Im guessing the number of chests needed will increase per delivery.

Probably like once the first delivery, then one week, then one month, and will them sit at about once a month assumming you collect both each day, maybe slightly faster if you are quick about it.

The loot is too good for this to happen often. Also dont be surprised if it becomes a paid/free tier thing with free tier having nothing and paid tier having good stuff that we see here. They don’t just give this stuff out ^^

Looks like they are finding ways to boost engagement in Dragonspire.

They can’t let it fail so they will look to drive traffic. Once players have started playing it and liking their little dragons less cajoling will be needed.

Hope this assessment is correct AND that SG brings out more incentives…

Thank you PFF

This might be the one place where I’d say… they need to change the x1 Summon Token with like… x5 to x25 Pick Up Coins. I don’t know why Pick Up Coins exist in general, but this sounds like a perfect place to dump them here. Daily Summon, unfortunately, is not like Dragonspire’s Silver Summon, where there’s an extremely slim chance I’d get something of value. Summon Tokens have pretty much lost value to me. They practically prevent getting 3 Mystic Summons.

I’d also up x1 UT Coins to around the same amount as I suggest for Pick Up Coins. x5 to x20 or x25. Getting exactly x1 is pretty pathetic unless the cost for pulls gets reduced from 100 to 5.

Ofc this is based on the shown example loots. Maybe there is a very rare chance that tokens/coins do hit these numbers. But yeah, it’s at least not the Wanted Mission Monster Chest giving food, iron, and 1 trash drop or 1 gem.

Count me as one who thinks it’s a bad idea. Giving players “free stuff” is only going to make the expect more. I think back to early D&D games, before AD&D came out even. The games where you got free stuff were far less engaging that the games where you had to make do with less.

So if I’m reading this correctly, noono wants to play the dreadful dragon game because it is extremely badly designed and very boring.

So rather than act like a competent dev team (e.g. the original creators of Empire and Puzzles) and fix dragonspire to make it actually fun to play, they are instead going to leave it as a pointless mess of terrible game design and try to force people to play it by offering incentives in the main game.

Surely someone on the team has had the thought “if noone wants to play this game voluntarily, they we should go back to the drawing board and try to improve it, rather than offering cyncial reward schemes”?

Except we all pretty well suspect exactly what happened to that person:

“Dragon delivery” sounds like it at least uncomfortably rhymes with “watching enough MV ads can give better in-game rewards than an entire month of war chest or winning raid tournaments.”

I mean, sure, I’ll take my free stuff where I can get it, but I guess I’d rather see better rewards for gameplay :man_shrugging:

Current beta has shipment sent after 14 idle chests are collected, so roughly once per week.

Some reciprocity from the heroes would be nice too. Every monster, raid, titan chest collected can be counted to send gift crates to their Dragonspire allies.

I wish there was a way to send resources up to the dragon sphere from the main base and vice versa. I think one of those daily task things could be created that starts at one base and ends at the other.

Thx, you are right.
I have updated the OP.
