Often players on the Forum wonder about what’s going on in Beta.

If you’re a regular reader of the Forum, then you’ll find that there’s actually abundant conversation about what’s going on in Beta at any given time.

And that’s actually allowed!

What’s restricted is images and videos — but discussion is ok:

The challenge is that information is often scattered around the Forum. I’ve created The Beta Beat to help centralize it for those who are 0interested.

The Beta Beat is a series of threads which are evolving as I get feedback on what’s helpful to players.

My main focus is giving some high-level guidance of what’s going on in current testing, so players outside of Beta can be better informed.

Like Beta itself, this thread is experimental and will evolve based on your feedback.

Information from Beta is frankly often mostly useless, so don’t get too attached.

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that heroes and features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release.

That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any information from Beta — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of hero skills to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to hero stats to be made, or for large chunks of new functionality to be completely changed.

Often Incomplete Information Circulates

Many of us have seen screenshots and other information shared on LINE, Discord, Facebook, and other groups — often without context or explanation.

These can lead to confusion and misunderstanding.

Often, early Beta information — the least reliable or useful — is circulated
and then updated information is missed.

I’m hoping centralizing some high-level information on the Forum may help to reduce this as well.

HA! Seriously?

It took less than a week from the introduction of alpha aethers into the game to the first big cash grab; I honestly expected the introductory “pseudo Path of Dragons” chain of tasks (and associated “buy premium ‘rewards’”) to be followed instantaneously by a full fledged Path of Dragons, once the intro tasks were completed.

I’m surprised it’s taken this long, given the obvious empty space where the intro dragon!path was and the incoming dragon!path will go, waiting under various other dragon!ads :stuck_out_tongue:

I expected more stuff to do first before we got the path. Existing paths contain tasks referring to using/defeating character classes - which don’t exist for Dragons, or using X number of costumes - which, again, don’t exist for Dragons.

It was obvious that it was coming, hence the

I’d have a hard time coming up with even one thing they could make into a “task” like we see in the other paths. There just isn’t much to do.

Win a raid with dragons of the same element. That said, I hope that one won’t be there.

Looking over the past Beta time lines leading up to events, would V73 be the most likely beta for the Christmas heroes (IF SG is planning on new heroes and/or costumes) or is there still hope for info during the v72 beta process that has just opened?

Have EHTs I’d like to use, would dearly love MN’s costume since it eluded me when it was available and new heroes would make it more enticing.

Halloween is low priority destination because C-Alucard was happy to join my rag-tag, motley bunch.

The chance to get C MN or any other non featured 5* would be around 0.1% if not less.

It would be nice if there was a separate category for beta discussions so they don’t confused with actual game topics.

Beta Christmas usally end of October early November.

Is normally devoted to seasonal situations plus hotm and maybe some season costumes.

V72 is planned for release on the 11th November, which is just under three weeks before the 1st December, so definitely too tight for v73 to bring new Santa’s Challenge content. So yeah, it will come to beta test during the current v72 beta test cycle.
