Still searching for the best tank for my defense, which is desperately in need of an upgrade. Have tried Dark Lord, Cupido, Azmia, and Ferant.

Rest of team could be among below options plus Onatel, C Alasie, Dark Lord, Grace, Meilikki (2LB), Waddles (2LB), Hypnos (although I’m hesitant to use Styx heroes ln defense), Nyx, Viselus, and Alucard.

Thanks for your insights.

ps. On edit: @The_Seeker reminded about my formation (just got hero academy this week!!), so any suggestions for 2 tanks in a reverse formation would be much appreciated!

I’m curious how the AI decides who gets 17% vs 16%.

You mean for raid or war?

For war, best is to have matching tanks for all your alliance.

For raids, I would suggest the reverse V formation, so you would basically have two tanks

Thanks for your great insight @The_Seeker. I totally forgot about changing my formation–I actually just got my hero academy this week (yay)!! My alliance uses purple so it has to be Bera (who seems to be better than vanilla Freya), although the vote for Kitty is giving me some thought.

Whom (2) would you choose for raid defense? Thanks again!

I agree that probably Bera is the best for wars. Kitty can be easily dispelled and her main advantage is the ailment reflect, the overheal is too little and over-turn. So she could easily be killed with pure damage heroes.

For raids, it’s a bit difficult, depends also on which others you would get on the team. But right now I would choose Hetepheres and Cupido.

In any case, these two I would put on defense, as they offer a very good advantage to both your heroes and they also put your enemy at a disadvantage.

Myoin-ni could be the tip of the V point. Or maybe Milady.

Thanks a gazillion @The_Seeker!! You’ve actually made me feel a lot better about pulling Hete today to break my S5 curse (over 120 pulls–more than all other seasons combined) but had wanted any other S5 (even the maligned Set and Papyros) since I already have 2 Ariels.

Of course, you’ve also thrown a wrench into my blue ascencion order…

From these, I would say that C. Alasie, Dark Lord and Hypnos are good heroes also for defense. Indeed Hypnos is not great because of his charge speed, but when I fight him, I always try to kill him asap, otherwise he could wreak my team.

Viselus is not great, but he can be very nice together with Bera.

I do find Hetepheres quite good. Better than base Ariel, but not as good as C. Ariel for offense because C Ariel oveheals and gives mana directly. I think the criticism for Hetepheres is that she is not as dangerous as Cleopatra or Hathor, but I do think she is better than Papyros and for sure better than Set.

I think I would experiment either with:

Milady/ Hetepheres - Dark Lord/ Bera - Myoin-ni/ Viselus - C. Alasie- Cupid (I would prioritise Milady, because you already have a healer and a minion maker)

or double formation with:

Myoin-ni - Cupid in front and Milady - Dark Lord - C Alasie in the back. So if they come with a Nature team they would be be weak against Cupid, a Fire team would be weak against the Ice in the back and an Ice team would be weak against Myoin -ni.

I find it so fascinating too! And am happy about the 4-star votes: although poor C. Ariel without any!

Many of them are all within the past 2 weeks because I got both birthday money and crazy birthday luck (3 Archies, 2 C Lepus, 1 Jasper, and 3 HOTM from Springvale in about 65 pulls, both of the new ninjas, and Hete is my very first S5 hero after being cursed with that portal since I started playing). Of course, I have no mats for most of them, but at least I’ll plenty of projects when I return to being C2P/FTP after my birthday money is gone…

That is exciting! I look forward to hear about your leveling and gameplay with them over the months to come :nerd_face:. Throw C Ariel in a different type of poll and she would shine…you just have much better defensive tank options. She is a staple for me in different attack teams in all game formats - a true “workhorse” hero for my personal gameplay. Happy Belated Birthday :partying_face:

Hetepheres, and put cupido on the same team for the extra 20% healing bonus which means she heals 60% for all allies. That with blind will be irritating

Thanks @Tidyup! I forgot about Cupido’s healing bonus. If it also applies to Hete’s potential overheal too, that would be super.

Cupido, one of the best support heroes imo. Once he fires, he can support the tank as the enemies will heal the tank as well

A lot of people are suggesting the same as I would: Hetepheres + Cupido. I would put Hetepheres in tank position, if you do not have a taunt, and Cupido next to her. It would be ideal if you also had a hero that boosted mana generation.
