Alliance Advice - Help!

I started playing in February last year and joined my first - and current - alliance in September at Level 51.

In these 7 months, I have improved immensely. I will be Level 70 during Atlantis next week. My defence team is now above 5000 TP and comfortably maintains cups in the 2600 - 2800 range (and have gone above 3000 while raiding).

War: My alliance has a war score around 220k. My 6 war teams are now 4800+ TP and I was the top scorer for the past 3 wars.

Titans: My alliance currently hits 10/11* titans. For the past 3+ months, I am the highest damage dealer ~90% of the time and hit around 10+% of the titian’s HP with 6 flags (occasionally above 20% with extra titan energy).

Sadly a few members within my alliance have a rather lax attitude on flag use. Until recently, unused flags in war was a real problem but this is better now. While we are required to use at least 3 flags for titans, there are always no-shows (usually 3-6 people for every titan) and some only use 1-2 flags for minimal damage. It’s always the same few people. One guy is a no-show over 75% of the time.

While I don’t mind doing the heavy lifting, I feel everyone needs to contribute and do their part (even if they have weaker teams).

Unfortunately, the current team leader has 4 accounts and is often among the no-shows. Yesterday’s titan escaped because his 4 accounts were among the 6 no-shows and 2 other members used only 1-2 flags for minimal damage. For the last rare rooster titan, I hit 800+k damage (~23% of titan’s HP) using 15 flags while the team leader uses a grand total of 3 flags across ALL his 4 accounts.

My dilemma… I am wondering if it’s worth sticking around and trying to change things for the better. Or should I start to look for a new alliance? I have only been with one alliance all this while and the majority of my team mates are nice guys and generous with advice.

Appreciate any thoughts on what I should do.

I’d start looking. There are a lot of good alliances out there which would be a good fit for you I’d imagine. You’ll likely get a few offers just from this thread.

If you post your line ID etc or take a hunt through some of the ads there may be some which stand out

@Saltyy not sure if you guys are still looking?

Definately look for a better Alliance of equal peers. The problem you will find is to have shared goals with your Alliance members all the way. Otherwise you will bottleneck your progress and get stuck. Always enjoy your game and progressive speed and resources. Happy gaming!!

You’re absolutely right. Equal peers with the same shared goals is important to happy gaming. Thanks!

get out from there and don’t feel sorry. 1st alliance usually sucks. there are so many good alliance that suitable with ur playstyle. u are not married to 1 alliance. and literally there are thousands friendly members out there.

whenever u feel an alliance u joined not match with ur style, get out and keep finding the good one. usually in global chat alliance requirment, a lot of active and applies strict rules alliances available.

remember this: suck alliance will keep suck forever. if the leader doesn’t start kicking lazy members, then it will be suck alliance forever.

if ur playstyle is active and love strict rules, u are suitable with high class alliance that kicking higher level titan above 10*

Thanks, @fight_happy! I’ll look around and check these out.

I would have long departed if I were you. If an alliance does nothing to unused flags and/or titan no-shows, I would leave at the first sign. Not to mention the leader amongst them, worst case of all.

I joined my alliance from day ONE, and almost a year afterwards we are not so strong but active enough and it’s been fun. Count myself lucky, lol.

There seems to be 2 sets of rules. Older team members who have played together for 3-4 years get a free pass (like the team leader himself) while enforcing the rules more strictly for ‘newer’ members.

I’m looking for a chilled alliance who turn up and use all their flags for every titan and every war.

Game to take on 12* titans and above. Not as keen to compete in a top 100/1000 alliance for Alliance Quest or Mythic Titan though.

just find it in global chat alliance recruitment section, many will glad to have u as team

Thank you, @mogulemon.

before moving maybe you can communicate with your alliance members first. and if possible, ask for a leadership position from the current leader. it will be better if you can guide them to the correct path. but if they don’t want to, then leave them. You deserve a better situation. Good luck buddy. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m sorry your alliance us not working out. Unfortunately, as I’ve learned fron past experience, trying to change an apathetic alliance just doesn’t work. You can get short bursts where you begin tonhope that things are changing, but the apathy creeps back in.

If you are looking to improve, I would recommend switching alliances, which admittedly can be hard if you have grown attached to some of the members.

If you decide to look for a new alliance, 541-Titan Slayers may be a good fit.

We are taking on 12-13* titans at the moment and do not really compete on Aliiance Quests or Mythic Titans.

I have linked our recruiting thread below. If you are interested, feel free to reach out with any questions.

541-Titan Slayers is Recruiting

Majority of the players are all from one country and they have played together for a long time, 3-4 years. I have tried to set a good example by using extra flags and encouraging the few no-shows but maybe these guys are too set in their ways.

If the other conscientious players do not want a change (patriotic/national pride), maybe it’s better that I leave.

@Shere … First of all I’d like to congratulate you on your accomplishments. As for your dilemma sadly, this happens all too often. You cannot hold yourself responsible for others nor can you expect others to change. You have to focus on the enjoyment of your own gaming and enjoy an environment of like-minded players/family. There are a ton of alliances out there, not to mention franchises. I’m pretty sure you’re going to get bombarded with recruiting posters and what not (shameless plug … Check out The Shop Franchise  ) but in the end you have to do what’s right for you. Happy gaming my friend good luck to you whatever u choose.
  :beers:

Truth is, the alliance isn’t to blame. It is what it is and won’t change. The alliance is only as good as the people that dwell there. You can’t really expect an alliance to change just because you’re unhappy with the way they do things. Those that feel they don’t belong, should move forward without a second thought. There literally are thousands of alliances out there. I’m sure you will find one fitting your playstyle, if you look hard enough. Stop trying to change things move on, find a place you belong and let the others be happy and play the way they enjoy. Moving to a more active alliance means you’ll also have to change your ways. In an active alliance, one person hitting 23% hp on a titan is unhealthy, it means other players won’t get a chance to hit. Titans and wars are not, or at least shouldn’t be, a competition between team members, so you’ll have to temper your enthusiasm a bit and take one for the team, from time to time. War rules also might be different, you might be assigned specific targets, not of your own choice, but in the interest of the team. As a general rule, moving to a better alliance means you’ll leave your alpha status behind and you’ll have to play by the new place’s rules.
To conclude, I wouldn’t hesitate for a bit. If unhappy move forward and don’t look back.

be a king in one place, a commoner in another. :upside_down_face:

Yes, that’s the idea, but being a commoner in a better place will usually result in better results and be more satisfying than being a king in some forgotten dump. It’s a personal choice for every player. Be a giant among dwarfs or a be an average (or less) among giants.
