guess we shall see how this defense team plays out… Especially since I thought that my last defense lineup for the recent 5* Bloody Battle tournament looked fairly decent but was an unfortunate and utter disappointment!…. I’ll appreciate any feedback, suggestions and tips, especially for how to best decide on building better tournament defenses (as I am certainly still trying to learn a lot about this game and different techniques)….

In this tournament type the key characters are Treevil and Faiez, as Treevil packs the most punch of all the 3* heroes and Faiez is the only decent counter for Treevil. Everyone else is up for debate, so you’re looking good.

Thanks for the advice! …. I don’t have 2 Treevils… but I do have a few other options to consider…. What might your thoughts be on the defense lineup I currently have in the pic vs using or swapping one of them out with any of these choices (why/why not):

Once you have Treevil and Faiez, your main focus should be with either the minion meta (Kvasir+Dawn) or just plain damage with heroes that hit multiple targets with high damage such as Maeve, Greel, General Yin, Waqas, Rufus or Sudri.

You shouldn’t bring more than 2 healers, but having 2 is fine, so your Rekhetre is not bad especially combined with Faiez.

Some people like mana cutters such as Bauchan or Goopy.

I wouldn’t bring charge heroes such as Dante, Virgil or Kinsaishi on defence.

There is an argument to be made about Joukahainen who dispels, since everyone will bring Faiez against Treevil and you want to dispel Faiez’s buff. Tyrum can also dispel but he is arguably a waste in a very fast tournament since he already has fast speed and only hits 1 target.

Some very brave people might try something like a Basil tank and healers, and you want to bring dispellers against them. In a vfast tournament a Basil tank supported by healers can lead to a stalemate where you lose because of the time limit.

So it’s really a matter of taste, and in a vfast tournament board luck will be significant factor. Against a Treevil tank, your options are to either kill him immediately with tiles or get tiles for Faiez to prevent Treevil debuffs. A lvl 60 Shrubbear sometimes works wonders too, especially if you don’t have a good board while attacking, but I wouldn’t bring Shrubbear on defence.

That’s my personal experience, feel free to correct me if you think I’m wrong.
