So, debate in my team about what troops to use for vf on five stars heroes. Does using a cyclops or wizard for extra mana assist in any way, or should you use mana for extra attack? None of us use crit troops but is this the war where they could assist?
I am not a specialist, but I think the l11+ mana troops are the best way to go. I use cyclops or magic only if I donāt have another levelled mana troop
9% mana is needed to fire in 6 tiles.
19% mana is needed to fire in 5.5.
I always assume my D is being attacked by mana troops, so thatās how I set my defense. Mana trumps everything in this game.
Just to clarify Iām only asking about VF wars and all troops, mana, wiz and cyclops are fully leveled to 30.
Mana has 6% higher atk and 3% higher def than cyclops troops, which is not insignificant (especially on the atk stat). Assuming an average 5* LB+20 hitter has around 900 atk, thatās an extra 54 atk, or almost 4 atk nodes worth. They do have +5% mana bonus and gives +25% bypass chance to offset the weaker atk and def stats.
Wizard troops represent a compromise in atk and def stats between mana and cyclops troops, while still giving that +5% mana bonus. In a vacuum*, Iād say if you a full set of lv 30 wizard troops, thatās what you should use.
*but real life doesnāt exist in a vacuum does it Where I think cyclops troops would be superior, is if you paired them with a ranger, so the pierce chance becomes 50%, or even 85% if you have an S1 ranger (Khagan + 2x CB maybe?).

But aside from that, Iād put the cyclops troop to Congalach and the wizard to MN. That bypass is completely wasted on MN but could be useful to Congalach

Mana on offense,
if you have a healer in defense use Magic on defense. Without a healer use cyclops troops.
Explanation: On offense you should be able to fire after 6 tiles, thats lvl.11 mana or better. No need to trade attack stats for mana. On defense it gets complicated. If your heroes are hit on defense for the first time in a turn, they get half the mana, the tile carries. Subsequent hitting tiles on the same turn give less mana, so every bit of manageneration can be helpful on defense to fire the special as fast as possible.
Without a healer, magic troopās healing bonus is useless, so without a healer a styx or cyclops troop is slightly better.
