Considering the high cost of levelling troops (wrt ham & feeders), how many 4 star troops of each kind would you advise keeping?
I am leaning towards -
Mana - 2
Magic - 2
Cyclops - 2
Ninja -1
Crit - 1
Will the above meet the requirements for all situations in E&P?

If youâve got the resources to level all of them, then sure thatâs a good list.
I hate my crit troops now and wish I had more 11+ mana/magic/cyclops troops. After I get 5 of those at 29 (would take another 8 years if I estimate), then Iâll worry about crit and ninja.
It also depends on how much mono you use and what level the troops are. 5 level 10 mana troops wonât do much for you. Either they help with mana or they donât.
Thanks, mate! So, I guess 2 each of mana/magic/cyclops are good enough. I got at least 1 cyclops @ lvl 27 in green, yellow & blue + purple cyclops @ lvl 25 + red cyclops @ lvl 23.
Feeders are the show stoppers.
I did the math & while 3 troops take 2 days 12 hrs to train in HA, in a month I end up with 20 â3 feedersâ
Add the ETTs saved for Magic & Styx events & I should end up with probably 30 rare feeders.
In a year, about 300 rare feeders (ballpark).
So, I guess itâs ok

Good uses have mostly run dry other than troops. So 1 and 2 Star troops help train. If youâre relying just on rare troops, youâve got a much longer path.
Depends what type of team you play. If you play 3-2 all you need is 3 mana troops. Which kind isn´t all that important, but of course Styx and Magic have more mana boost than the standard old mana troops. Maybe one of each kind is best to have? Depends a bit what kind of heroes you use a lot. If you play avg speed heroes all you need is 12% mana boost, you can get that easily with standard troops and get better stats boosts from them, for example.
If you play mono, you need 5 mana troops, rest same as above.
For titans and events, Ninjas can be really good (and the old mana troops are also good). I guess once you have the above mentioned troops, this would be the next thing to focus on?
Thank you, all, for sharing. @Ruskin505 , I am VC2P since the Dec balance update. I was referring to rare troops for taking the higher lvl troops (lvl 23 & above) to lvl 30. @Gargon , I have shifted to mono or at max 4-1 style recently, hence the need to cover 5 heroes with mana boost.
Generally, I have found that, when you play mono, having 1 crit troop in your team boosts the damage. For eg., I need only 3 tiles (vertical or horizontal) to take out 1 hero of the weak color.
To explain further, when I play mono Holy against a purple tank, 3 holy tiles (vertical or horizontal) into the dark tank & the tank is dead.
All said & done, I find @The_Seeker 's advice âto get 2 Magic & Styx up, then 1 Mana & then probably 1 Crit troop (if need be) & the Ninja troop coming in last in the orderâ, to be an optimised wat forward.
How much time did it take you to lvl these to lvl 30?
I have full sets of 3x mana; 2x magic; 2x styx; 1x crit and the ninjaâs at various stages. Iâve been playing for just over 5 years so itâs taken me awhile. However I did level up the magics and styx relatively quickly.
Did you spend too much on pulling troops?

Waaaaaaay too much. Iâm impatient and spend foolishly because of it. Lol. The troop trainers werenât around when I first started and they are extremely helpful. The reality is that there is no getting around the significant financial cost of troops - especially to speed up the levelling process. Troops are a wonderful investment. Itâs easier if you play 3-2 or 3-1-1 as you can do âonlyâ 3 max troops in each colour. Mono players need 5 strong max sets and that is expensive in every respect.
I would keep in any color:
2 Mana, 2 Magic and one Styx troop.
IMO crit troops are only fodder in todays meta, Nimja troops maybe helpful for titan but not essential.
I would not lvl. Ninja-troops keep only one of each color for future use and feed the others away.
Bring all troops to lvl.5, then a styx to lvl.12, a mana and a Magic troop to lvl. 17.
Then it depends on your heroes and team composition, for fighting mostly 3/2 I would bring the next magic troop to 11, before proceeding with the first to lvl. 23
