Elemental defense buffs and debuffs work on both elemental and non-elemental damage, which is why they’re still useful in raids and titans:

It is not that simple. People usually don’t have 5 good heroes of same color. Except the top players and even they seldom have 5x80 of same color.

Also running an all green attack team would be bad. Sure if you get plenty of green tiles, it will wreck. But if not or there is very few, you are in serious trouble.

For defense color isn’t that important, but for attack, running a rainbow team is never a good idea. I mainly use 2/2/1 teams. Making sure the tank weak color is doubled up, and the tanks strong color isn’t.

This is the first time I see this approach, can you please share why you do it?

I double the colour which is strong against the tank, that way it dies really fast, and I usually omit the weak one. In raids, with 3200-3300 I usually beat down up to 3600-3700, depending on the exact heroes on both sides.

There’s topic about titan, where there’s formula about what you gain on average when you stack colours, and stacking strong gives you a better score than going rainbow, that’s where I picked up my reasons.

I was never talking about a single color attackteam. If the defteam is 5 blues I would go 3 green and 2 purple and would have an easy time:)

Because of mana. Having 2 of same color is great for loading two of your heroes with mana with one combo while giving defender only single mana. I especially like vivica-joon combo. 3x3gems load joon and then Vivica is almost full to heal all the damage defender has made. Dispel and protect.

Also with level 23 mana troops you can use 3x3 to charge both a fast and average. I love for example Athena/magni or Hel/Sartana for that. Also Gravemaker/Marjana. 2x3 charges GM. Next 3 Marjana. Next 3 GM again.

Most combos are 3 shields.

That is they key to kill of defenders before they have time to charge up. Some tanks really ruin the game if they have time to cast, like Guinevere. Having a second doubles color helps when you dont get the tiles against the tank color. You can use specials to kill it.

Could do 3/2 also, but it is pretty restrictive and risky, if you dont get those colors.

Maybe we misunderstood each other.
I asked you why you double stack weak colour against the tank, and not strong one, since the gain is better when you double strong one. Says here

I understand mana part, but just can’t see the reason why you wouldn’t stack strong colour but avoid stacking it completely. I find tiles better destroyer than relying only on specials.

I said double up tanks weak color. Meaning the color the tank is weak against. Then double another color that is not what he is strong against.

 ok, all clear now

I was used to different phrasing here, so I totally misread. Thanks

How do you know this? Have developers ever released info related to this or has there been any kind of data collected?

Specifically for how elemental buffs effect heros on defense team and how elemental debuffs effect the attacking team.

I always assumed everything you said. But just curious of how we know it’s a fact and not theory

I think the devs have only confirmed the basics like elemental match-ups and such. The rest is largely experimentation (for example, it’s easy to find a Kashhrek tank to verify that his fire shield dampens fire specials). So technically it’s theory, but it’s tested theory at least, and I can edit the post if we do find a discrepancy.

Im trying to find “in writing” what fire on fire, ice on ice and nature on nature damage is. Is it 1x or 1/2???

Those are 1x (neutral) damage.

I know there’s been some time since the last reply to this post but I have a doubt.

  • Elemental defense buffs and debuffs affect all attacks originating from a character of that element even if it isn’t considered an elemental attack. For example, Kashhrek’s fire shield reduces Fire damage, meaning that any attacks originating from a Fire character (like red tiles, Kelile’s Dance of Fire special attack, or normal attacks from red titans) will be reduced by this shield.

Does this mean that if I use an Evelyn in my defending team along with a Kadilen, after Evelyn goes off, both normal and special attacks from Evelyn and Kadilen will deal bonus damage to affected enemies while the debuff is active, even tho before the debuff those attacks didn’t count as elemental?
