Hey guys, sorry if this is a dumb question but I couldn’t seem to find the answer to this question.
If I have a hero on my defense team that activates elemental defense down on enemies, would that have no effect on the tile damage my AI defense team deals to players since tiles from the AI and colour neutral? I figured it would increase damage from special attacks from the AI but not regular tiles right?
On the flip side, if I’m attacking a defense team and I have a hero that activates elemental defense up, does this make any difference with regular tile damage from the AI or again it’s colour neutral so the only benefits come from incoming special attacks?
Basically on defense, the enemy hero slash attack and minion attacks do take the element into consideration when there is a EDD or EDU
Special attacks are neutral unless specifically stated to do extra damage like GM vs Greens for example
Edit : Some extra clarification about special skills. While the skills themselves are neutral, if you have elemental def down of a specific color, then the damage of special skills from heroes of that color are boosted
Correct, technically the non-special damage the defense team does is not the ‘tile’ damage. This is not affected by anything that is related to elements (not just elemental def down, but also elemental reflect, elemental def up etc).
Kinda answered that above, but yes, it won’t matter against slash attacks, just direct damage from specials (not even DoTs!).

opponents defence doesn’t have tile damage - they only do slash attacks
if you have for example Frida (blue EDD) and Richard (blue hero) on your defence, Frida hits first and Richard after - Richards Special attack will do more damage
also Richards slash attack would do more damage
all other special and slasj attacks from other colours doN’t do more damage - only with regular defense down
about elemental defense up I believe it works the same way but not 100% sure on this one…
Oh yes sorry I mean slash attack not tile damage, my bad! The reason I ask is because I’ve been told that slash attacks are colour neutral, so for example if Frida in my defense hits the enemy, then other special attacks from blue heroes will do more damage on the enemy but slash attacks from blue heroes will ‘not’ do more damage. I remember someone saying that once so I wanted to confirm!
Yeah I someone got confused with my terminology so apologies for that! But thanks I guess that’s what I wanted to know, that since there are only ‘slash attacks’ and not ‘tile damage’, the only thing that would do more damage would be special attacks!
