Hey all, I apologize if this has been asked. I searched and couldn’t find it.
I was wondering if you hit an enemy with a D down, say from a ramming pulverizer, does the enemy damage they get back increase if they attack a riposted hero while their D is down?
I have a feeling the damage is fixed on the percentage of their attack, so their D being down is irrelevant. I didn’t know if this was confirmed though. I tried finding out in game but I think I used too easy of provinces as I kept killing mobs too early, let’s say results inconclusive
Thanks in advance and good luck out there!
The answer is yes. If a riposte hero has defense down, it means he/she will take more damage, and consequently reflect back more damage. That’s why people try to avoid the defense nodes when embleming riposte heroes. Instead, it’s better to focus on health to make them survive longer.

Thanks @ThePirateKing, I think I worded it poorly though, that’s on me.
If the enemies D is down does the 125% damage they automatically take increase beyond that since their D is down? My own riposters D is “normal”. Does that makes sense?
Thanks again!
There are two possible scenarios you could be alluding to, and I am not clear which one in specific is that you’re concerned with. So, let me just point out the two scenarios:
Possibility 1: An enemy riposte hero (say Elena) is hit by defense down, and then Elena activates her riposte ability. Now, if your hero (say Caedmon) hits this Elena
As @ThePirateKing rightly pointed out, since Elena’s defense is down… she takes more damage. This means her riposte also reflects more damage than usual… so, your Caedmon will be hit harder.
Possibility 2: An enemy def down hero (say Grimm) hit your hero Caedmon with def down, and then Elena activates her riposte ability. Now, if Caedmon hits this Elena
Despite the fact that your Caedmon’s defense is down… he wouldn’t take more than usual damage from the riposte. This is because riposte damage is a fixed percentage of the damage taken by Elena. It has nothing to do with Caedmon’s health or defense.

I think possibility 2 in my response should address this… (you will have to flip the enemy and your sides in the example appropriately)

Thanks @CaptainjaKCsparrow , scenario 2 is what I meant and failed miserably at explaining clearly. English is my first language, so no excuse there either
Had a feeling the percentage was fixed.
Thanks again!

Nope, in that case the damage won’t change. The damage that a hero takes from riposte is simply a certain percentage of the damage that the particular hero does on the riposte hero, and has no bearing on his/her own defense. Hope that helped.
