Decided to double LB Proteus as I use him on 95% of my raids and in other places as well. He now has the highest tile damage of all my heroes. And his poison damage ain’t to shabby either.
The last screen shot is with a lvl 27 mana troop.

I am constantly playing with ideas to get someone better than Freya at war tank and I’m wondering about 2LB Proteus for the job. I feel like his damage reduction skill makes him roughly equivalent to Freya 85 +20 (891-879-1702). You’ve been using him for a while, so you think he could survive long enough to fire?
@Andrewbook Proteus LB2 is still not the sturdiest. I’m also not sure if his mana block and poison DoT are the best choice for war tank. he only hits 3, and the AI will often mis-aim him.
(that said, I do appreciate his LB2 damage reduction power - I find he lasts longer than many other 4*, he often survives better than my Lb1 Kitty)
compare to Bera, who has better stats; minions can potentially hit whole team; and when she dies, she cuts mana. (though the Lunar heroes or other anti-minion heroes will smash her fast)

Oh well. Thanks. I feel like there is a creative option for a LB2 four star out there. Freya’s best tank ability is her mana cut when she dies! I’ll keep looking! I may still LB2 Proteus-his skill has not aged!
he’s definitely worth LB2! just not for tank IMO, he’s better for offense. Ferant or Azmia could be good tank choices I think!
I need a dark one (and don’t have either of those two anyway…)!
I asked this on his Costume Hero page, but no answers. Should I worry about his costume path when embleming him? I plan on all defense but just wondering if his costumed version is any good, if anyone uses it, or just take the CB and focus on the original? Thanks
I look at his costume as a stat bonus. Stop mana gain is superior over decreased mana generation for me so I will stick with the original one.

Agreed 100%!, without nearby protection, he can easily be one-shot to death at full health by some OP snipers out there …hopeful SG will come round to reviewing S2 costume bonuses,…make them a little more than what they are currently!

I plan on sticking him next to my LB2 Bryn for a little protection. Having Kitty also helps. Thanks for the replies!

Hmm the defensive stats are not the sturdiest, and the special isn’t the most devastating. Who else do you have? It all depends on the alternatives
Right now I don’t have any other alternative as my good darks are snipers… (C Seshat, C1 Sartana, Turgurk) and Morax and Grimble.
I will pick from SE either C Jabby (90%) or Kemm 
Morax or seshat Will be better as tank.
The stat of Proteus make him really Bad un defense

agree. Morax hits 3, so will generally be a better choice than Seshat, in my opinion
