All of his Special Skill abilities are useful and strong, you just can’t plan ahead for which you’ll get.
Depending on the team you’re attacking, I’d consider pairing him on Offense with some mix of:

AoE hitter to take advantage if he throws Stars

Another semi or full healer

Other DoT casters
-
Elemental Defense debuffers
-
A sniper or two
-
A dispeller
-
Mana controllers, if he’s Talented (pairs nicely with him being a Sorcerer)
He can fit in on a lot of teams as a support hero.
