Just recently started to get 5* heroes. Telluria is my only viable 5*
Other options:
Green:melendor (c) (but heal clashes with Tell and invites a red stack)
Red: Colen, wilbur, sumitomo
Blue: Triton, kiril, boril
Yellow:hu tao (4/64, almost maxed), but not really suited to this tournament.
I’d go for choice 2, with Sonya / Khagan / Telly / Athena / Kingston.
Kiril is tempting, but Khagan already gives a defense boost anyway, and buff booster rules take care of attack.
Khagan slower than Athena, so even if Khagan is on the left Athena will probably fire first.
Sonya on left wing, as she’s same speed as Athena and Kingston, increasing the chances she will fire first and dispel anything that could reduce the damage from Athena / Kingston.
Richard-C is an option, as he will just directly reduce attack and may be sturdier than Sonya. On balance, he would leave other boosts behind… your call, in the end Sonya+20 is suitably sturdy and the fast mana may make a difference.
Khagan vs. Marjana, I agree with Khagan. With Telly around, he should live long enough to fire once, hopefully. And he exploits the buff booster mechanic.
AM worried about having three passives (Mel-C, Boldy, Aegir) though.
I usually go all 5* for these tourneys and pray, but my other 5*s are Margaret, Greg, Inari, Lepus. Marg and Greg and Inari all buff, but I also want dispellers handy.
I would go for second selection and replace Marjana by Joon_costumed. And I would not put both healers on the same side…swap Sonya and Mel C.
Sonya Boldtusk Aegir Joon MelC
With Buff Booster it is ok to have more passive guys…as the buffs will increase the damage. If you are looking for more aggressive setup go for Greg instead of MelC…yeah that is what I would probably do. This crit chance is really nice on slash attacks.
