Will be? Pengi is already a permanent thing. He dominates leaderboards since 5 mythic titans and will stay dominant without a balance update.

Until SG steps in to intervene, or a different hero combo comes out, top spots are essentially who got the most minions summoned and tiles needed for all the Pengiās to keep shooting. Color of titan doesnāt matter.
I appreciate there are some team in the top 100 that arenāt that, but when you can fit them on one hand in a top 100 count you have an issue in terms of event variety and balance IMO.
Top 5% is still good loot for the amount of real life time invested though.

And while theyāre at it, they could improve the event. Itās, what, like 2 years this thing is the exactly the same thing barring sneakily changing passives on some of Mythic Titans. Thank God it alternates with W3K.

Itās exacerbated too because Pengi is somewhat readily available given heās a seasonal hero versus say an event hero. Lots of people can try for a month each year to get him.
I. actually donāt mind the game play. Sure they could add different titans or secondary factors to mix it up, but I enjoy the low amount of real life time it takes versus replaying challenge event stages all weekend or how unbearably long a tower takes.
It used to be a fairly āevenā event where lower spenders could compete a little easier as the playing field was leveled with no replays, etc. This Pengi team essentially broke that unless youāre a FTP or CTP who lucked into Pengi.

Hands off my Pengi mate!
I summoned him the first Christmas he was introduced. But only now after a year I have assembled a team that can get to 1% best single hit in MT. Last Christmas I summoned Krampus and Buster. Combined with Santa and Nordri they kick the a_s_s of any MT regardless of color. There are a few that are immune to Defdown or edd or attack boost, than the team must be tweaked a bit.
You need Pengi, you need the right support heroes, until Buster came out, Franz was a must. And you need to go heavy on items. I used:
5 Hurricanes
5 Big Mana Potions
5 Tornados
5 Med. Mana Potions
on my best hit.
You start with two hurricanes. The first fires Krampus, thennSanta then Pengi. The 2nd Hurricane fires Buster, Nordri, Pengi again. The order of the heroes is important.
Now you give mana on Pengi and fire his special as often and as fast as possible. Its important to ignore his animation, you can load and fire him while the herrings are still flying, or you will loose time. After all items are used begin with tile play, you will only have a handful of moves before the time is over.
Krampus taunt is on, all heroes have a meatshield of 3 minions, so the two 3* heroes will survive to the end, if not it does not matter any more.

I have no Pengi and still managed top 1% in both total and top attack. Also, 5 flags left unused - and it still was more than enough.
But heroes like Pengi should not give immediate top scores vs any Mythic titan, regardless of color. The hero can be easily fixed without that having any impact on its combat applications.
What was your Highscore with this Team?
I agree, and I never said to above. The issue is the event set up itself for Pengi to be exploited, not Pengi. I donāt think he needs a nerf, which is why I didnāt ask for one above.

Boy I donāt like this event. The novelty has worn off. Ended up using 9 attacks to get top 5%. I donāt get much damage when I donāt bother using items in 8 of those attacks.

Dunno if the loot was reduced or anything but i literally got 2 troop tokens from 1% top attack and 1% top total.
Wasted a load of resources.
Screw you. Was a good event for resources but after thisā¦ no more. Maybe only bad luck but Iām not risking again.
Random loot always was ok but chance for getting nothing or miserable stuff??? No no no.

Someone want to explain why double pengiās were so popular in top teams? Was it high attack stats or is there some synergy Iām not understanding?

Very high damage per use of his special, and between hurricanes, tornadoes, and scrolls of alteration 2x Pengi can be used a minimum of 18 times. Heroes like Franz, Glenda, Athena, Frida, Costume Perseus, etc. are necessary as well, you canāt just go in with random blues and do well (except against the Red Mythic, I suppose).
Iām surprised his special would do that much damage, compared to tiles, even if the whole team had minions. Most titan damage for me has been from tiles (I donāt have Pengi), with specials taking up a minute amount in comparison. How much tens of thousands (hundreds?) of damage could 2x Pengiās do around?
Well, on Gilgamesh I did 1.8 million with my 2x Pengi team. Others did closer to 2 million. Itās marginally worse on Baba Yaga because blue tiles arenāt as good there, but tile damage is only 25% of the damage youāll deal.
2x Congalach, 2x Alfrike, and 2x Eset are equally viable for the same reason.

I couldnāt find a discussion where people were posting thresholds for the top 1% / top 5% thresholds in the current Mythic Titan event.
I can say that a ābest attackā score of 379,000 currently gets a rank of ~24,850ā¦ Which is top 5%.
I can also say that as of now, a total score of ~1.3 million gets a rank of ~22,300 or so.
I was trying to figure out if it were worth really spending out for my remaining flags to try to break into the top 1%, or if that ship has sailed

My best attack is 839k. In the 5% region but it jumps once in the 1% and back.
