I’ve been told not to level my watchtower past level 10 because then I produce a bunch of food/iron and become a bigger target for raids. The thing is, don’t people raid based on what they think their chance of beating you is + the win loss of cups? Maybe I should be leveling up my tower so I can collect all my resources and get more out of it? Especially considering how active I am, people can’t attack when I’m online. Does increasing my food and iron production really make me a bigger target so I would have to worry about my cups going down? I’m in platinum currently and struggling to get into diamond but I’m close. I don’t want to lose cups whenever possible I just think that maybe leveling up my watchtower doesn’t actually hurt me that much…? Maybe it helps me because then I acquire more resources to level everything up.
The watchtower advice you are referring to is, I believe, a bit dated. This used to be excellent advice before a few months ago, when they changed the calculations pertaining to how much loot an enemy raider could take from your watchtower. Now, an enemy can only take a certain amount, depending on either team strength and/or level (not sure which), whereas before, you could get COMPLETELY cleaned out by a single raid. I used to do the same thing as you, underleveling my watchtower, until this change was made. But at higher levels, the watchtower can store and produce significant amounts of ore and food, and I think it would benefit you to raise it to 20. Have a good day friend.
Look at the resources lost by you in individual raids. Are you losing more to raids or are you losing more due to underutilization.
This is a good point. My resources don’t collect dust. I’m always upgrading and leveling my heroes.
