I want some advice from more experienced heroes about leveling some S1 heroes
I have Marjana, Elkanen, Leonidas and Vivica but not their costumes (yet). Since I have some other good 5s heroes, I’m not interested about using the classical versions and I’m pulling HA10 and The Masquerade portal for their costume
My question is: would it be worth it at least take them to 3/70 and when (or if) I get their costumes it would be faster to level their costumes or just let it be and just try to level them once I have the costume?
the probability never getting the costume is relevant. An if you should get it, it is both the hero and the costume. so without use for the vanilla version it is not worth to level it up unless you rally have nothing else to level
S1 5stars are entirely pointless these days, current 4 stars are simply better. And that means S1 at 4/80. At 3/70 they´re even worse!
Marjana at 4/80 (wasted 4 star mats) is at 669/712/1404 with full Attack emblems 794/769/1518
Junaid at 4/70 (fast and cheap to upgrade without wasting 4 star mats) is at 748/579/1260 at 4/75 with emblems at 919/713/1482.
That means Junaid (400%) does more damage than Marjana (458%) at +20 talents! You´d have to LB Marjana to even get close (or a little bit better for damage, but not counting all the passives/family boni and secondary ability Junaid has)! Imagine that insane waste of resources just to become even with a 4 star hero!!!
So no don´t upgrade S1 5 stars! Throw them into soul exchange instead! If you get a costume later on, you´ll also get a copy of the hero again.
I think in the end, it depends - are there some good 4* or other heroes you could be working on? if you have no other projects, there’s no harm dumping feeders into one of these (I would vote Marjana) just so your feeders have somewhere to go
That totally depends on your roster, summoning and 4* mats stockpile. My alliance is in the top 100-150 area, and I use Marjana, Leonidas, Sartana, Lianna, Magni and Richard without codtume in nearly every war.
I have Juneaid too, he is good, but a class cannon, not fit to battle top defenses.

I am playing this game from more than 4 years and I am using Thorne, Magni, Marjana, Joon, Sartana in every War and Raid and my best Nature hero is Lianna, she worth emblem, LB
I think those heroes are a relic of fast power creep in a slow game. Sure people that have upgraded these heroes years ago will still use them, that makes totally sense.
What i am saying is that new people that started in the last year of this game it simply makes no sense at all to upgrade S1 heroes. It is a waste of resources for very little benefit. Upgrading them is silly, using them if you already have them is not silly.
The only scenario where I could see upgrading a S1 hero make sense in 2022, is a FTP roster that has nothing else to upgrade and 20+ of each 4star ascension mat. FTP players are not limited by mats, but by pulls, wasting mats is not an issue for them. So if they get “unlucky” and pull a Marjana, but not a Junaid and they have nothing else to upgrade, then of course they will upgrade Marjana. Better S1 than nothing at all. But not a goal to work towards.
What is your opportunity cost? As in, if you’re not feeding the heroes you’ve listed, who gets fed instead? Maybe you’ve got some cool 3/4*s that could use some attention?
Unless they are planning on spending a lot! To get other hero’s. These are the hero’s they will get … maybe.

Unless they plan to be a big spender how to you propose they get other hero’s.? I’ve saved gems for 30 pulls 2 xs now and only got 1 non season 1 5* ???
Please don’t listen if your not a big spender they had me not level them and look…. Now guess what doing leveling Elena and thorne and seriously why not what else am I suppose to do with that???
Yeah I agree typical advise here is based on a considerable spend level… I just don’t ask for advice. It is easy to decide what to do when you spend none or little, you will easily be able to level everything you get over time… And I mean everything, ive leveled ammeona, stonecleave, rokkamiss, shale, and Boomer even lol.
Marjanna is one of the better s1 5* for raids/wars… Khagan for events, Elena Titans and counter is awesome in PVE … the only one I’d maybe be hesitant on is Azlar. He was my 2nd red maxed based on what I had… Both him and marjanna are with no emblems right now. Marjanna was for Zagrog and azlar was… Cause he had no use lol.
@NoRecesso That REALLY depends and there is no simple answer for this question.
Do you spend? If so, how much? Are you easly frustrated or likes challenges? How good is your luck? How many mats you have? What you need them for? How often you play this game?
These are just a few questions that came to my mind first and depending of answers your recommendation would be different.
Marjana and Leonidas are still useful. Vivica is only usable in VF wars and tournaments. Elk without costume is too weak now.
I wait till I have 12 mats, in this case 12 Darts or Rings. Then I ascend a mediocre but still usable hero like Marjana. If I got lucky and summon an A-class hero, I have the mats for leveling the new hero immediately.
If you have 30+ leveled 5* heroes, you will have enough for war, and should only ascend new heroes if they improve your roster significantly.
Well depends on what you consider big spending I guess. I consider myself C2P, I spend a little, enough to get most (not all) 4 star heroes. I have a grand total of 3 maxed out 5 star heroes
Francine with CB (I think my strongest hero)
Akkorog (considered one of the weaker S4 heroes)
Fenrir (considered one of the weakest S3 heroes)
I also have a total of 16 S1 5ers and most likely every single one of them will go into next soul exchange. I rather upgrade 1 good hero than 20 that can easily be substituted by 4 star heroes.
Complete FTPs as I said have more mats than heroes, so they can upgrade every garbage S1 hero they get and never run out, everybody who don´t have mats coming out of their ears need to consider where to spend them. And a S1 5star is just not it.
As you said yourself Marjana is a weak sniper, why on earth would you recommend upgrading it if you had anything else?
This belief that every 5 star hero is stronger than every 4 star hero is simply not up to date anymore in 2022 and is very bad advice for newer players. For new players a 5 star hero is a major investment, not only in mats, but in feeders (and time to upgrade). Why would you want to waste all that if you can get the same quality hero for a fraction of the upgrade costs?
The feeders you put into 1 or 2 of those useless 5star heroes you can use instead for building an entire team of 4 star heroes that will perform well in events/wars/raids. And even if you got 5 of those S1 snipers/or whatever upgraded you still only had one horribly bad rainbow team of junk heroes that will achieve nothing in any part of the game!
