I have Kiril at 4.70+13 and about 50 emblems. I just got proteus and he’s at 4.63 and should max him today or tomorrow. I wanted opinions on whether I should leave Kiril and start embleming proteus or take Kiril to 20 then go proteus. I don’t use kiril as much as before but he is still used. Proteus is great and I will likely take him against ursena on hard as I haven’t beat that after 3 tries. I have Mel, bt, rigard, Sabina and Vivica. Viv is at 3.58 going to 3.70 until I get more darts. Others are maxed so healers are plenty at 4*. I can finish all the trials and the events on every difficulty but proteus would help on final bosses. Thanks.

Proteus gets the majority of my wizard emblems over Kiril, Sartana and kasshrek.
Kiril is well balanced, Proteus is super powered but very vulnerable. I have therefore invested in improving his durability and he is superb.

First of all, I wouldn’t bother with the 19 and 20 levels of the talent grid. They don’t offer enough benefit for the higher emblem cost to obtain them.
That being said, I gave all my Wizard emblems to Proteus. He is at 4-70+18, and not going any further.
Meanwhile, I have Kiril at 4-70 with zero emblems. He will not get any of them. Instead, my Wizard emblems are being saved for a 3-60 Proteus that I’ll be leveling up after Obakan (I need Obakan to help me against Yellow titans).
In essence, this is the crux of the issue:

Thanks. Now I’m considering resetting Kiril and giving everything to proteus. He does need a lot of help from the defense and health.

im thinking of doing the same too. Even my 3x60 Kiril seems to hold his ground fairly well but proteus is really squish
Besides losing some emblems (if you’re not using reset emblem) you’re losing all the food and iron needed to class kiril.
Even after you do reset kiril, you will need days to gather the resources to class Proteus.
Max proteus and use him. Most of us did fine with him for a long time (before emblems were introduced) and emblems will not impact your raid results much based off a few more defense or health to him.
I think Proteus should get the bulk of your emblems but no real rush.
My food and iron have been a challenge lately with the advanced buildings upgrades, maybe yours is too but consider your resources too before deciding on reset.
Agreed with all the advice above. Proteus and Kiril are my main Wizards, and the only 4* or 5* Wizards I have maxed.
Kiril’s main use is to heal+buff, but he already has good defensive stats so doesn’t need the emblems as much.
Proteus is much more brittle, so needs more investment to keep alive so he can use his special more often.
also, you have many other healers available, so you can easily bring 2 healers, and even 2 buffers (like if you bring Kiril + Boldtusk together), so even if Kiril dies, you have a “spare”. but you don’t have anyone else who does what Proteus does, so more important to keep Proteus alive.

Thanks. Actually using tc19 to finish proteus killed my food. The iron is okay as my buildings are maxed and I have advanced ones though they are sapping resources. Hopefully sartana pops from tc20 and since she is a wizard that make this even easier. Big girl gets emblems…lol.

I have 1 Proteus at +14 and Kiril at +3. I started leveling a second Proteus now who is at 4.15. Should I give any new emblems to the new Proteus? Or continue with the old one. I do use them a lot together with dark stacks.

I have the same situation: a maxed Proteus +18 and Kiril +6, then i maxed my second Proteus.
i think Proteus +14 is sturdy enough. if you use both Proteus together, makes sense to start boosting the second one. I use both Proteus together for Epic tiers of challenge events, second Proteus now +2. the difference was pretty obvious, first Proteus survived a lot longer. so i would stop first at +14 for now and give some emblems to the second

@ffphier Get your first Proteus to +15 then start working on Proteus #2.
Proteus #1, #2, #3 before Kiril imo.
Kiril is great, but Proteus will help you beat higher teams in raid/wars and make challenges and class tries so much easier; Kiril won’t do that.
Regarding emblem path:
I’m a big fan of defense+health for him.
His job imo is to survive and lock enemy mana, not to be a dmg dealer.
Gl and have fun with him. He’s great, I have 3 Proteus/Proti, I love them all.

Amendment to my above statement from months ago…
I now have Proteus at +19 because I got a Purple mana troop to Lvl 17, and in combination, it makes Proteus charge his special in 9 tiles… which is quite special indeed. 
Well worth the emblem cost for +19… but I still didn’t see a point to going +20, that is not worth the emblems.
If you have a Purple mana troop anywhere near Lvl 17, then going to +19 is very much worth it on Proteus. Otherwise, share the love and make them both a bit tougher.

I’d probably keep Kiril where he is and just start on Proteus in your situation.
I’ve got Kiril at +17 emblem. In fact, he was my first maxed 4 *. Pulled Proteus recently and now he is at +11 emblem.
I had been using Kiril all the way to 2800 cups while Proteus only see the light in stacking, AW and big bosses + class quest.
No doubt Proteus is an amazing hero but I dare to say, with a cleanser like Rigard, Kunchen or Vivica ready, he is quite hopeless. In fact, Kiril had saved his life on countless time.
On raid offense and defence team, Kiril is almost undispensable ; until I’ve got a deep bench.
IMO, it’s all down to individual preference and playing style. Both are great hero in their own way.

I just got Peters last pirates event. The 2 together are amazing. One stops mana gen the other stops them firing if they are maxed. Not quite as good as Hel and Miki but given their appearance rates these 2 are more likely to be in peoples benches. Now if I could just get Wilbur id have all the good s2 4s. Triton, gad, proteus, danza, amoenna(lol). Don’t need aqwe or sumitomo, he’s like a red obakan and I have obakan at 1.1 so I don’t need a weaker red version.

That’s exactly what I did. It was worth it.
Kiril is great, but Proteus is a game changer.
Classes can be so out of balance… I have so many powerful wizards… Proteus, Kiril, Isarnia and Sartana are competing for my emblems… Meanwhile, for monks, sorcerers and rangers I have hundreds of emblems and no hero to use them on… Hopefully one day Joon and Lianna will decide spring out of TC20, but for sorcerers, I have no clue what to do… I don’t think Quintus worthy…

For once I go to the opposite from majority. Yes Proteus is great, he’s great to complete challenge but not to compete.
Yes hes great to some bosses as he protect you from cs, but he is not ensuring you will kill the boss if you lake of protection or damages.
On raids lets be clear, proteus is a good pick in platinium, mid platinium. But being squeeshie and average, hes realy disapointing in diamond. Often he will be ready after the fast opponent, and then not really impactfull. Plus 10+ emblemed 5* does not really suffer from his dot.
The only 4* controller which stand in diamond is Hansel.
On the other hand kiril is bulky and offers a very good buff on both offense and defense which is needed everywhere.
So if you have a good blue stack, go for kiril.
