I just recently started playing and find it really fun. I’m C2P and haven’t gotten very far yet (only at level 23. I’ve been trying to read up on how to make good team comps, using synergies and different color tactics, but I’m really struggling creating some solid teams for each purpose from what I have.
I’m trying to do as much content as possible, but I’m not really sure who’s good for what (attack in raids, war, titans, map stages and also defence). I can understand that it’s better to focus on some solid 4* heroes and ascend those, instead of diving into 5* whenever they show up.
Who should I focus on to level in my rooster? What team comps would you recommend from what I have?
The two 4* that stick out is Kelile and Caedmon since you have both first and second costume to both of them.
Other than that, healers are always needed so boldtusk and Mel Ensor are great options too. Generally speaking you should focus on the ones you have costumes to since costume are easy to lvl and are a great way to make the heroes stronger from the costume bonus.
I think you are right about your thought on 5*, focus on 4* star first but you have one 5star (Peñolite) that is great so can’t go wrong with that, but I guess you can’t fully ascend her/him atm.
Interesting! They were not the heroes I thought you were going to point out Why is it better to focus on those with two costumes on them? They are cheaper to level you said, but do they also receive 2x bonus stats when they are ascended? …or how does it actually work, can’t seem to figure it out.
I was already thinking of levelling Boldtusk, he seems to be viable in many situations. The same goes for Grimm, who I’ve heard good things about.
What about the team composition for the two heroes you mention, what would that look like? Defensive and offensive a like.
But first - build good 3* teams to fight on challenge events.
Heroes worth to be maxed, eblemed and LBd for this:
cGunnar, Kailani, cHawkmoon, cUlmer, Waqas, cKaril, Brienne, cDawa, Frosty, Buster
A couple of questions though… you mention the 3* heroes that are worth levelling for events, but what would a team comp look like with some of them? Or does that vary a lot from event to event?
And what about a titan team, any thoughts on that?
@BigBoogie …
Ok this is a game of patience and the best advice I got from my first alliance leader was to focus on building 3 x 3* rainbow teams followed by 4 x 4* rainbow teams before I focus on developing any 5* heroes.
The 3* and 4* teams will win you the mats to level your 5* heroes.
From your roster (that I can see) I would focus on:
3*
Treevil, Costume Bane, Costume Berden, Costume Valen, Buster, Waqas, Phoenicus, Frosty, Costume Brienne, Gato, Costume Renfeld, Costume Tyrum, Costume Hawkmoon, Costume Balthazar, Costume Karil, Costume Gunnar,
4*
Kiril, Marcel, Sonya, Rigard, Costume Grimm, Costume Boldtusk, Costume Gormek, Costume Caedmon, Costume Colen, Sabina, Costume Tiburtus, Costume Melendor, Costume Kelile
5*
Penolite
Yes, it does vary dependent on event, and even event stage (mainly on reflected color - but also on other special stage effects).
Recent 3* meta for all but blue-reflect events was cGunnar-cUlmer-Nordri + two strong hitters (cKaril, Chick, Gato or the like). For blue-reflect good team is harder to get - it looks to be Dolgoon+4*Noril. But you can get the feel how to build such a team.
The main idea is that you can kill the mobs with less than 3 tile hits in your color and the heroes fully charged can kill the bosses with one salvo of specials.
Rules for titan team are quite easy:
You use mono team in color strong against titan and put into this team as many heroes as you have from following cathegories (one from each cathegory, more only if their effects can stack):
attack buffer (you have Kiril, Boldtusk, cUlmer, cHawkmoon)
general def debuffer (you have Brienne, cKailani, cGunnar, Grimm, Tiburtus, Gormek, Treevil, Valen)
elemental def debuffer (you don’t have any yet)
tile buffer (you don’t have any yet)
and fill remaining slots with heroes with biggest attack stat.
of course, if you don’t have atk buffer or def debuffer in right color, you can use off-color hero to get the effect.
@JGE@H.V@Uddi Learning a lot here, thank you so much
I know this a game of patience, and as I now understand it takes a lot of levelled heroes to get to a good point.
I think the difficult thing for me is where to focus (and who to focus on). If I need multiple 3* teams for events, but also build a decent defensive team with 4* aaand progress on my offensive for map stages and titans, I don’t know where to start I’m fine with starting somewhere and slowly progress, but I can’t figure out what and who is most important.
Think about it this way.
In the early play, when you don’t have a lot of resources in storage, you have to go for quick returns.
Without stored resources, maxing 3* takes about a week, 4* - 3-4 weeks, 5* - about 2 months.
So it is better to start with building 3* base, which after 2-3 weeks can be successfully used to gain resources for more expensive heroes.
3* heroes are for example enough to:
finish all rare challenges (the ones that give you 3* and 4* ascension mats)
finish S1
get about halfway through s2
finish at least few first provinces in s3 and s4 (I was able to win with 3* teams on all 6WE stages in these seasons)
autofarm on all most popular farming stages (1-7-4, 1-8-7, 2-1-5, 2-1-9, 2-4-3,…)
kill hordes on monster island (if you have 3* overhealers)
Well, it is worth trying to get into top 100k in rare level - it is not very hard to build a team capable of doing so and the loot is good for a beginning player.
Ok my advice would be to level up 3 x 3* rainbow teams first.
Blue = Valen, Frosty, Gato, Gunnar, Karil
Red = Buster, Azar, Waqas, Hawkmoon
Green = Berden, Brienne
Purple = Treevil, Tyrum, Balthazar
Yellow = Bane
Make sure you level their costumes too
Then start looking at which you want to limit break and who you want to give emblems to…
For your defence team, I personally would only use fully levelled heroes…. So start with your 3*
Your 4* defence would probably include
Blue = Kiril
Red = Costume Kelile
Green = Costume Caedmon
Purple = Costume Tiburtus
Yellow = ?
Makes total sense what all of you are saying about the 3* heroes and building onwards from there.
Now I’m trying to think of a good 3* rainbow team for defence. Just to get started in a direction. I haven’t forgotten about all your specific input on 4* teams though (thanks again!), but I guess (as you all say) that I should start focus on 3s for now.
Who could I build it around? Maybe Treevil? I know he’s really slow, but maybe he could tank and get he’s ability off in time. Or what about Gunnar for a tank with his spirit link?
A crazy idea (maybe ) what about cHawkmoon, Gunnar, Treevil, Friar Tuck and Bane? Although it lacks some dispel I guess.
And any input on 3* offensive team from my roster?
@BigBoogie
On offence I personally would recommend a 3-2 colour stack against your opponents in both raids and war.
Go three same colour heroes against the opponents Tank and take a healer with you. In your case Costume Hawkmoon or Frosty.
In normal defence look to play average / fast heroes. Use your slow heroes like Treevil in Rush tournaments etc.
So for normal defence you got Costume Gunnar (tank) Costume Hawkmoon, Berden, Costume Balthazar and Bane
Just wondering though, why costume Gunnar and not regular? Isn’t it very valuable with extra defence and spirit link, and I’m not really sure why it would be useful to split the damage over all enemies?
Also what about costume Balthazar, why is he better in this case?
All the advice you have been given so far is solid and should be followed. Best advice I can give is just play the game. Use different combinations and see what works for you. Try every hero you have on season 1 map stages (don’t even need them leveled up to about province 8) and then try putting together teams depending on what you want to do and how you like to play. Level the heroes that work for you. Ignore the ones that don’t.
Also, never auto-play any stage. This will help you to learn to manage the board as well as giving you decent knowledge of your heroes, how fast they fire, what kind of damge they do, which order best to fire them in etc etc.
