Hi just wondering, if using a green tank for defense team what colour flank is the best to use. Red or blue?
Usually a tank is determined by these factors:
- HP & Armour: Is the tank sturdy? Gotta have decent armor + health compared to your other heroes.
- Posing a Threat: Is the tank’s special a threat to enemies? It’s good to have a tank that punishes the enemy for pumping tiles up the center lane.
Color isn’t extremely important, but, since many people raid with Gravemaker on offense above 2400 cups, green can be a liability (gm does extra damage to them).
Anyway - it’s all based on your current roster. Who did you have in mind for your tank?
EDIT - I totally misread the question. @AliceCooper has it right: Red beats Green, Green beats Blue, and Blue beats Red. Therefore you can configure the team knowing that the enemy will hurl the strongest color at your tank, and compliment it with a flank that’s sturdy against that particular color. Whew this is a mouthful… I’ll leave the comments to others.
Regardless of heroes factor, green is stronger than blue, blue is stronger than red.
If you are using a green tank and not on a rainbow team setup, usually, blue flanks will be just fine as this will probably discourage the opponents from pounding red tiles to your tank.
Else, green tank with red and blue flank on a rainbow team setup.
Green tank should be fine in gold or platinum arena but could run into problem in diamond arena where there are thousands of Gravemakers ready to burn the forest.
It’s for the war tomorrow, team discussion, do we do green tanks flanked by 2 reds or 2 blues, go rainbow and have 1 of each either side
Green tanks are IMHO the easiest colour to beat. There are sooo many red snipers.
But, if the team have decided and it has been said before, attackers would usually stack red to take out a green tank, so with blue flanks because they are strong against red. Or have one blue flank and rainbow defense. You could coordinate the order of the colours too as people tend to run out of suitable colours towards the latter half of war.

Thank you it’s the first time weve tried green
Nice ! I have never come across a Green Tank alliance in war so please share with us the results how it goes
@sallou, I wouldn’t have Mel as tank as attackers will unload tiles into Mel, level up their specials and take out your team a lot easier. What other options do you have?
I used Kashrhek for the longest time in AW and he was great. Every now and then I feel like putting up a red AOE tank flanked by two Kashies and two snipers just to see how they go; sadly i will have to wait for the next field aid war and even then it is an expensive gamble. Once you understand, Kashie is pretty vulnerable.
Haha yeh Kashy is good for beginner/intermediate players, but so easily countered now.
I have seen tons of kashy tanks, but have never versed an alliance in war who ran an entire green tank strategy.
Why you are not using an AOE as a tank, defeats me. A healer tank is going to soak up 5 of every seven flat tile hits until your opposition starts one or two hitting all of them.
Me either, the healer tank is always a mistake. EDIT: I have seen just two, Caedmon and Little John and out of the two I’d rather face Caedmon again.
Yes and no, some healer tanks can be effective in war.
I run Ariel tank tier 13 sometimes in war and performs well.
I generally run with two flank healers, a cleanser and debuffer. I don’t care about wasting attackers time.
Oops sorry I sent my team another 2 times by mistake
Looks like Melendor was your strongest green yet. No other choice.
At least, your flanks was fast so both should be able to take some pressure off Melendor.
Btw, Queen Of Heart can wait.
Once you’re done with Wilbur and Gormek,
Your next project should be Kiril, Caedmon and Rigard. This are the core of any 4 * team.
Well we won they have 5 remaining flags
