Correct,ā¦ he is in my next waiting listā¦ after 2nd Rigard at 3.60.
I might take that same advice- youāre very vulnerable against a blue stack as well donāt you think?
I like your 1st choice better for this tournament
No, because my reds are on the wing and protected by my tank and flanks. Your tank is red so anyone attacking you is incentivized to stack blue vs you and then as a bonus another hero is weak to the stack theyād naturally want to bring vs you. If someone stacks 3+ blue vs my defense it isnāt helping them color stack vs my middle 3 so Iām totally fine with that.
The best tank color this tournament is purple because they canāt color stack vs it. However Shrubbear and Bauchan are some of the best 3* tanks so I understand using them. But if you use them you should avoid doubling up on that color
My tank isnāt red but I understand where you are coming from.
Edit- Iāll be using shrubbear for sure but will not be dbling up on green.
My bad I thought Yayo was responding to me
How did your defense do last time with that set up?
@ApollosEmpire, unfurnately Iām not recording the result, and also not post in those thread, so no tracking at all. I do not know, but I think the defense is not good, because last time I do not have yet slow heroes like Ulmer and Jahangir leveled.
Regarding Oberon, I think itās just that most people on the forum, itself having a bit of a self-selection bias since the casual player is unaware of its existence, have better options. Cochin and Gill-Ra are stronger options in general. Itās not that Oberon is bad, just there are better uses for the slot.
Iām starting to think I should feed off my fully levelled Oberon and even Prisca because they have basically no use that I can conceive of.
Also just a PSA: just because yellow is locked out does not excuse players from making poor general defense decisions. Renfeld is still a bad tank. If you have a stronger tank than your purple options use that. Also keep in mind that heavy stacking is going to suffer because most donāt have enough levelled troops to capitalize on it. Your defense will take a hit if youāre running level 1 troops or, God forbid, common villager filler troops.
Going to try this setup, hope to get Bauchan eventually though. Threw an emblem on some others to help proc their talents too.
But in a very fast tourney is Oberon not a strong option? Hits all, damage over time to all. Seems more powerful than Chochin to me. Chochin as a hit 3 has a chance of only hitting 2 or even less if their team had dead heroes in between. Curious to get your thoughts on that. I mean this is the best possible circumstance for Oberon. His special is very fast instead of slow and he canāt be color stacked against. Thereās not a lot of cleansers to get rid of his damage over time, only Tyrum costume and Gill-Ra?
I think you guys have me convinced on the Shrubbear tank. Maybe this is my best setup?
Or I could switch Bauchan and Ulmer
Other strong options include Hawkmoon costume, Chochin
I never said he was bad. I just donāt think heās as useful as people think. His base defense is lower than Cochin or Gill-Ra, and the latter two are more impactful if they fire. Granted Cochin could do less damage with dead heroes, but so would Oberon, so that strikes me as a non-statement.
In my personal experience, rush attack rule is affected more heavily by mana control than any other rule. Thereās an adage in Magic: the Gathering (of which I have a lot of personal experience) is that, generally, one wants to increase oneās options while working to give oneās opponent fewer options. Everyone is at the same speed for specials, more or less, but slowing down oneās opponent and giving them less opportunities to use their own heroes might earn one wins where there wouldnāt be one otherwise. With this in mind, heroes like Bauchan, Cochin, and Carver reduces an opponentās ability to dig themselves out. Oberon just does damage.
Which isnāt bad, but there are multiple ways to counter Oberon. Any healer for instance. The DOT is a base 96 over 6 turns which is terrible, and his base damage is both low and hurt by a low percentage. Only Ulmer has a lower percentage, but thatās made up by the devastating defense down and Ulmerās significantly higher attack stat. Bauchan has a lower percentage also but thatās made up by a much stronger secondary effect.
Youāre right in that the only cleansers are in the weak color. Iād argue though that it doesnāt matter. A healer can effectively wipe clean Oberonās dot. Only the cleansers can wipe off a mana gen penalty.
And Cochin does more percentage damage with a similar attack stat. Itās also not āminor damageā to the area hit which is a factor. Cochin has a higher defense which will matter more in most instances whereas Oberon only has more hitpoints.
Anyway thatās my line of thinking.
Personally I would go the Gill-Ra route rather than the G. Bat route.
Iām not really sure on Bat on defenceā¦ I mean I havenāt had much of a chance to play around with his skill so that is probably a major factorā¦
Gill-Ra on defence is a nightmare if she goes offā¦ Paired with the V. Fast other hitters and people could be in big trouble
One support
bring you must
if rush attack.
is Guardian Bat worth maxing just for this specific tournament? bat in corner must be lethal if he is the last one remaining.
