Epic hero tokens stockpile?

Hi all…

I’ve read people have been stockpiling epic hero tokens. May I ask what’s the reason for this? I’ve only been playing about 3 months.

Also, does it matter how the tokens were acquired? Ie. If they were purchased with the 1500 gem nature bundle?

Well, only reason players stockpile EHTs are so that they can use it during seasonal events like Halloween and Christmas, because the Seasonal summon portal replaces the normal Epic Hero portal. Also, sometimes they might be interested in a certain upcoming Hero of the month, and can save tokens to do some pulls for the HOTM.

Of course, for a newer player it is best to use the EHT asap so that one has access to some good heroes. But once you have TC20 running, the Epic Hero portal just becomes useless.

For complete beginners probably yes. However, as the Christmas event will start soon, currently I would recommend everyone to wait and get that extra chance for Rudolph, Buddy, Santa and Mother North :slightly_smiling_face:

This serves to keep new players engaged, since getting that first three-star team up is important, and relying on daily summons to obtain those heroes could take a very long time. However, as you point out, eventually players will be swimming in duplicates of three- and four-star classic heroes from TC20. There is some value in waiting, even early on, if it doesn’t ruin the game experience for you.

I wish I had established the discipline to save EHTs and gems much earlier than I did so I could use them all for the chance at season 2 and event heroes, which are not available from TC20. Those heroes are key to performing well later in the game. Now, I’m saving EHTs for Christmas (12 so far) and gems for Atlantis (1800+ so far) and even hoarding challenge coins for those challenge event heroes I think will help my roster the most (and that I have a reasonable chance of drawing). For me right now, that’s the four-star Guardians in January.

Not so much of a rebuttal to your comment, TPK, as some food for thought for the OP.
