šŸ§Ŗ Early Information on Visiting Outfitter [Part of The Beta Beat v72]

A famous Empires and puzzles youtuber predicts costs x10 compared to the beta: 1000 diamonds for 3 stars, 2000 for 4 stars, and 3000 for 5 starsā€¦ they are absolutely not what I would like, but, from what I have learned about Zynga/TT/SG in this time here, I consider them very probable, almost certain unfortunately :smiling_face_with_tear:
The choice between this outfitter and the Black Friday portal looks more and more like ā€˜Sophieā€™s choiceā€™ :broken_heart:

If 5* costume price is 3000, I prefer to try my luck with 10 pulls for newer heroes. I think up to 1000 gems is fair. But I hope 500

I voted for 1500-2000, not because I am enthusiastic about paying that, but because itā€™s a more realistic number that Zynga may levy.

That comes up to US$7.50 to $10, based on $0.99 for 200 gems.

I have purchased costumes or skins in other games for about S$14.98, about US$9.99, but those skins are not as useful as ones released here: some CB, not much add on value to specials but artwork is nicer.

On the other hand, Zynga may opt to tier costume purchase on an ascending sliding scale, like it is for Legendary Troop conversion.

For example:
First = 500 gems (make players happy)
Second = 750 gems
Third = 1000
And so onā€¦, in 250 gem increments,
With maximum at 3000 (thatā€™s like US$15).

Hmmm, knowing Zynga Iā€™ll say 500 for 3*, 1600 for 4* and 3000 for 5*.

That would seem to line up with a Zynga pricing structure for a roughly 18 month old item.

Canā€™t wait to spend lots of gems on a Francine or Vanda costume then see them get nerfed in begining of 2025

In reality Iā€™ll save my gems for whatever useless 3* Iā€™ll get in a future pull.

EDIT - BTW, what is the 100 next to my name & taco Tuesday description for? Iā€™m guessing itā€™s for 100 of my posts being flagged

Thanks for the info. Not sure if I should be happy I got recognized for plowing so much time into this game to hit level 100 :disappointed:

On topic, I really hope this feature goes well. An old costume isnā€™t likely to make a difference with my roster in todayā€™s meta but I hope it helps others.

If they tested 300, then it should be 300.

The feature was show like that to public. Should be as it was. Not expecting that much consideration from Zynga vampires, just saying. Whatā€™s the point of offering something that will benefit ā€œsmall/poor/cheapā€ players with a ā€œwhaleā€ price?

If this should happen not many players will use the outfitter very often.

I still think a price over 1k gems will ruin the outfitter for Zynga/TT because who of the ftp to ctp players will pay 4k gems for a costume which minimally improves your roster if you can make a 10 pull at chamber or an almost 10 pull to get 2 overpowered heros?

There are less than 10% chances to get a non S1 hero - non hotm from a 10 pull, while you can choose the exact desirable costume from the outfitter. There are 4-5 costumes in the current list that would benefit any f2p to c2p player. All of them original heroes were available in a fated summon list at some point. Even a total f2p player can get at least 200 pulls during the same FS list. Based on the above mentioned, I consider 3000 gems a fair price for VO, although I would prefer it much lower.

Iā€™m going with 300 gems and Iā€™m totally serious (I was a dolphin and went ā€œFTPā€ this year).

This feature is basically just a nice to have and I simply donā€™t care MUCH about small improvements for my teams.

This is NOT a major improvement of some interesting game mode by far, like me pulling and leveling Scrollbeast improved my raid team by A LOT!

18 months to 4 year old costumes just arenā€™t comparable with new heroes.

Iā€™m actually leveling every unique hero and costume that I have - basically just for collection purposes and for the few gems from the museum - but I donā€™t feel like using any of them anywhere. Paying gems just to get more costumes that do not provide considerable additional joy and/or tactical flexibility is a waste. It doesnā€™t matter that these costumes were strong and worth a lot a long time ago. Are these costumes still useful in 2 to 12 months after you have bought and leveled them?

There is only 1 costume that Iā€™m really interested: Kullervo - not available yet
For this costume I would be willing to pay maybe up to 1000 gems. I can live without this costume as the original does his job already.

There are 9 more 5* costumes that Iā€™m somewhat interested in.
Guardian Panther - may be helpful for one of the 6 war teams - havenā€™t leveled her yet and I have a purple queue ā†’ max 400 gems
Skadi - just a nice to have for minion wars ā†’ max 300 gems
Freya - just a nice to have for my farming team ā†’ max 400 gems
Gefjon - just a nice to have - not leveled yet ā†’ max 300 gems
Baldur - useful for astral elves event - could be interesting for my farming team ā†’ max 500 gems
Tarlak - just a nice to have against blue titans ā†’ max 300 gems
Lepiota - looks interesting for raid and war, but not leveled yet and I already have a queue for purple ā†’ max 400 gems
Lord Loki - interesting for one of my 6 war teams ā†’ maybe up to 800 gems. I can live without this costume as the original does his job already.
Delilah - just a nice to have, she used to be in my farming team - max 300 gems

The rest of the 5* costumes is not very interesting. 300 gems for collection purposes seems too high since I donā€™t have and donā€™t get many gems (I donā€™t watch ads except for the rare ads and the daily 3 pulls, because the ads got way too annoying)

=> Therefore imho the average cost for an 18+ months old 5* costume should not exceed 300 gems

From the 4* costumes there is only 1 interesting costume: Guardian Jackal for purple titans ā†’ max 300 gems already sounds crazy for the tiny improvement the costume would provide
I donā€™t care for any of the other 4* costumes that I donā€™t already have
=> maybe up to 100 gems for collection purposes

Zero interest for 3* costumes. => max 50 gems for collection purposes

Overall it will be a matter of things like

  • gem availability for players
  • the actual advantage after getting and leveling a ā€œnewā€ costume of those 18+ months old ones
  • the power difference between these 18+ months old costumes and new heroes
  • other interesting things to spend your gems on

At present I have 440 gems. Iā€™d like to keep feeding my lab with 100 gems each week to get the emblems. Let players get more free gems and Iā€™ll be willing to spend more of these free gems on the interesting costumes.
The actual advantage of most costumes is close to irrelevant for me and only a few will be actually useful.
The power difference to new heroes is simply too large

Should I get my hopes up that the costume prices will be somewhat reasonable? Surprise me

It seems the prediction is 300. Congrat to all!

And thanks SG for do it right if this is the final.

All the rest is just to make it monthly

While predictions are up, we can expect any changes at any time, as we well know. But first news is great for players side. Hopefully it stays that way :slightly_smiling_face:

I love this, especially at a very sensible cost of 300 gems, and at least 4 times per year (fingers crossed for 6+ times per year).
It will help giving a second life to older heroes I LB1ā€™ed before.
I do think 12 months instead of 18 months would work better, considering the power creep pace. But I wonā€™t complain, itā€™s a great addition to the game!

I wish SGG would also do something similar to this idea I posted, where I suggest SE-like events where we could sacrifice a hero to get LB1 mats back, or where we could sacrifice a hero to get a different one from the same family.

Iā€™ve read some people on youtube saying the costume should cost 3000 gems and itā€™s a fair price, and they are angry because now f2p can get a costume which maybe costed more for themā€¦3000 gems for an old costume?! Lol some spenders hate the f2p so much i guess they are happy to spend tons of $ just to push the power creep further everytime,to make the f2p and c2p disappear into oblivion lol

  1. Whales donā€™t care about F2P/C2P. Those are two entirely different games we play.

  2. Whales no longer use majority of these old heroes. There are a few good ones for sure that are usable at the very top play, just not many. Why would a whale care if a f2p got that old hero that can barely survive in their world?

  3. YouTube, oh YouTubeā€¦all for the views and subscribersā€¦First, those are not their opinions but rather speculation on the pricing since nobody can be sure before it is live. Second - they read opinions here on Forum, FB and other web platforms and trying to be ā€œexpertsā€ in their YouTube chanel giving opinion and hints that they have collected from other players views. Again for subscribers. Most of them anywayā€¦

I was talking about the comments on youtube not the channels
Iā€™ve read some saying they paid big cash for these old costumes and f2p dont have to get them with 300 gems and 3000 gems would be fair

I know its all speculation
I just found it funny how they defended the 3000 gems proposed by that youtuber and attacking anyone who said 3000 gems is alot
And i only wrote spenders not whales
I know that whales are in a whole different league

A 5* costume cant be less than 3000gems
It has to be at least same cost as a x10 summon wich gzve 99% garbage feeders

A guaranted costume of our choice cant be valued less than that

Its not a matter of outdated heroes or not, it must match the pricing of all other cost in this game

Only trolls like the one above this comment defend it. Not because they really think it, just for the sake of trolling. Some of them donā€™t even play the game anymore but are still visiting Forum and commenting/trolling here and on other different platforms :slightly_smiling_face:

I think 3000 gems is excessive. We are not getting the hero, just the costume. In other words, people must have already summoned the hero. If they donā€™t have the hero, they will need to get it from the respective portal. On top of that, itā€™s a costume that came out one and a half years ago at least.

So no. I really hope they donā€™t price it as high.
