Don’t get too attached
Details from beta, especially brand-new beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual hero release.
It’s incredibly common that heroes are changed during beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of beta testing.
So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of skills to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to stats to be made.
Malosi Beta Info & Stats
Attack: 743
Defense: 729
HP: 1303

Resist: Defense Ailments – The Hero has an innate ability to resist status ailments that affect Defense. Doesn’t apply to status ailments that affect elemental defense.
Element: Holy/Yellow
Mana Speed: Very Fast
Special Skill: Power Punch
Deals 370% 300% damage to the target.
The target and nearby enemies cannot cast any new status effects or stacks on enemies or allies for 3 turns.
Element Link gives all Holy allies +10% Critical Chance for 6 turns. This effect can’t be dispelled.

Or: How many summons are needed to get a HOTM?
Special thanks to @Garanwyn for assistance on summoning odds and proofreading for this section.
It’s important to remember that HOTM have very low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a HOTM.
On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 12.3% chance of summoning the HOTM.
But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.
Some useful insights:
73 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 100
95 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 229
99 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 352
Putting that in Perspective
27 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 100th pull
If 1 Million players each summoned 100 times, 270,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM
5 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 229th pull
If 1 Million players each summoned 229 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM
More Insights & Reading
I highly recommend reading these two threads for more information and context on summoning odds:
If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.

He seems like a natural counter to Kunchen, in part.
It seems a lot like Seshat having a resistance to Mana Reduction making her a natural counter to Guin, in part.
If Kunchen fires, Malosi wouldn’t be affected. If Malosi fires before Kunchen, no one would be affected.
He’s certainly useful for all sorts of other buff/ailment blocking, but his color, resistance, and Special Skill all make him potentially useful as a counter against Kunchen.
Yea thought bout that after initial response. Still idk, somethin “unique” would have been cooler
Still waitin on a jackal replacement…but at least this hero doesn’t blind or mana cut so looks like someone in the design office finally decided to get at least somewhat creative
Neat but looks balanced. I like the idea here. Seems like a material for my Barb tokens also, I keep them on 4s and 3s because not many decent 5* on that class that I have.
Does it prevent from firing or just applying the status? Does it matter that a status is not dispellable? I think it should… Because there’s too much poor collateral victims here - take Morgan or Natalya, with the status ailment resistance becoming more and more popular, they become completely obsolete, and they didn’t really shine before those either, so I don’t think they need to keep getting countered by those new heroes…
Really? From the description it doesn’t sounds like that.
So let’s say I hit Isarnia with Malosi’s special.
Is she able to cast, deal damage BUT NOT the def-down, or she wastes mana doing no effect at all?
My understanding is that it will fire but won’t aplly any effects, for example Magni will deal damage but will not buff defense. But we’ll have to wait for clarification from actual testers.
I just tested against Zeline. She inflicted damage but did not inflict her attack debuff. Not sure about the dispel since I didn’t have any buffs on at the time.
