This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the initial release of Round 5 of Bard heroes for Challenge Festival 2.

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

It’s getting to where it’s hardly worth reading Specials any more, when there are Passives that increasingly Break the Rules.

I guess… goodbye dance heroes of any kind on defense?

(How long until we get a Passive that reads “disables enemy Passives”?)

Unless its a toon, an owl or a troll.

Bypass all passives coming soon, which will then be followed quickly by “this passive cannot be negated”……

Well… I did say “on defense.”

By which I mean, if you place something like “revive” or “dance” on defense, then someone attacking who has the right Bard passive can bring it to negate that part of your defense (whilst their Bard is standing, at least).

But bringing “revive” or “dance” on offense may still be viable, since not all defenses will be packing “lolnope” passives to the abilities you might want to bring.
