🧪 Early Information on ROUND 1 of Season 4 Hero Costumes [Part of The Beta Beat v57]

I am struggling to see why players (including whales who prob care less about spending) would pay to summon these crappy costumes?

If SG wants to make $, they should at least put in some thoughts and efforts to make things worth it.

The problem with this is that analogy doesn’t hold up for many of the original costumes. Early on, costumes were created to make heroes with less utility more useful. Now, most costumes are nothing but carbon copies of the original version. That is the problem that I have with this whole thing. SG has the potential to create new and exciting concepts, but instead are focusing on things NOBODY ASKED FOR.

Leaving aside the fact that these costumes are bad from special skills point of view, am I the only one that thinks that they their art is equally bad? They are some cartoonish alterations that don’t seem to have anything representative of the character. Fogg has a Swiss-army knife in his hand because he is supposed to be innovative… Lidenbrock looks like she got out of a seventies or eighties beauty-saloon… Really?

Wondering if it was done by the same people that did S3 art…

They are not even trying to hide it, these “costumes” are just buffs that you need to pay for.

Wow, this is so poor, zero creativity included.

Yes, actually most new costumes are just weird. I like Delilah’s costume the most out of all new costumes in the current beta.
Natalia is a tailor now, with scissors and measuring tape. Zeline has chicken feet… Musashi has become a slave or gladiator - he has chains around his waste and neck and something that looks like wooden parts of a pillory on his wrists.
Khiona is now a blacksmith.
Elisabeth wears a white dress now, roses in her hair, necklace made of roses, roses in her hand, roses everywhere… Where is the devious spider lady?

New costumes are just ugly like costumes of Freya, Gefjon, Frigg etc. When I look at them I feel that something is off, something doesn’t fit while their original artworks are just great.

Odd that Moreau’s special skill is Glacial Resilience as Aegir’s costume has a skill with the same name but different effects :confounded:

And Elizabeth skill ? Minor typo Birde’s Kiss => Bride’s Kiss. (Made me :smile: though. :bird: 's Kiss)

My thoughts with these!

Dr. Moreau

  • Assuming his special skill keeps that name (probably another copy-paste situation), have his damage increased based on ice shields on the board. I like the mechanic involving tiles on the board.

Elizabeth

  • This would be fascinating, since I haven’t seen them do a “replicator” fiend. I ESPECIALLY never seen them do a “spreading” effect with minions OR fiends. Fascinating change from the original purpose of the fiends, which I think was mana generation reduction while attached to enemies. Now they’re jumping queen spiders. I like this. (will regret liking it if it was made canon)

Garjammal

  • EVIL. Keep.

Lepiota

  • Valid. Keep. I always thought Abyss Ghost would essentially turn them into a blackhole for damage increases.

Phileas Fogg

  • Would it be “OP” if he debuffed the target with nature elemental defense double down? The target gets -30% defense against Nature and a further -5% every time they are hit for 3 turns. It caps around -55% or -60%. It’d be the opposite of whatever Rekhetre buffs herself with (dark defense double up).

Prof. Lidenbrock

  • If they supposedly “can’t” figure out how to convert all non-DoT debuffs into buffs, I think lifts and redistribution being a nice change. And adding either Reuben’s buff for reduced damage from DoT ailments or Elradir’s ailment reflect buff.
  • Make the second bullet point a quick heal and up the total boosted health of the second bullet point to between 450 to 500. (quick heal could be “all allies recover 18% to 22% health.”)

It’d definitely be improvements to these “costumes.” Could have been a monthly balance update if they really release these like this.

Would prefer a change. Instead of blind, have it be -34% mana slow. The extra 265% feels quite excessive

Again, I wished they played around with her costume theme for this one. Since she’s a bride here, maybe her spiders are the bridesmaids? Mine will be spider minions summoned to all with 25% hp and 15% attack. Spider minions block mana slow and their owners are not subjected to any effects from enemies’ special skills that kill minions (even grimble can’t gain main from his minion kills)

But for yours I like that, it’s kinda like a contagion effect. Works well with attrition battles

Nothing much, standard sniper, would be really nice to have

Or I add taunt instead of the regen being undispellable. So that she can tank weaker AOE hits.

I think damage amp effect could be more

The green EDD needs to be his main selling point, needs to splash -64% green EDD.

To be innovative, all allies attacks deal +54% attack against ice. It’s a new type of elemental damage introduce in magic tower. One of the new mages has this type of elemental damage. This will make him the perfect titan hero since he is barb as well

Overheal is too low. For me I would rebound the ailments like lady Loki. Increase heal for every ailment transferred and have that refreshed everytime she’s afflicted by ailments. Then that would justify the low heal. costumes changes their passives as well so C lidenbrock doesn’t have the 20% mana gain this time round, not worth it

This is a scam. These costumes are basically just a hero buff. Specials are the same with a few modifications. Ill be saving my hard earned money.

The only one that is good is Professor Lindembrok, all others are just copy - paste of the original version with a little improve (or not, I didn’t even bother to look better on them to can compare).
