šŸ§Ŗ Early Information on Roc (Sand Empire Hero) Costume [Part of The Beta Beat v48]

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the costume for Roc (Sand Empire hero).

Donā€™t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, donā€™t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

Itā€™s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldnā€™t get too attached to any of this ā€” itā€™s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

Sorry, I have missed the ā€œover 3 turnsā€.
I have adjusted the OP.

I havenā€™t tested him yet, but here was my initial reaction

I think this is a great update.
As it is, nothing can be done to Emilio / Garnet / Grazul.

Oh manā€¦ you guys remember when Roc was originally teased as an amazing fast heroā€¦ but because everyone cried foul on telluria and vela he turned into this meak version of himself and now ā€¦ he is drinking a juice boxā€¦ itā€™s funny to think about all that drama with the current state of the game.

They called a special skill ā€œBeach Partyā€?

Iā€™d like them to focus more on humanoid heroes.

Are they going to buff vanilla Roc? Because the skills are REALLY different

Vanilla Roc: 258 damage over 3 turns; 50% decrease for healing for two turns; cleanses status ailments.
cRoc: 495 damage over three turns; -44% defense for three turns; dispels buffs from all enemies.

The two skill packages arenā€™t even close in terms of usefulness. Vanilla Roc is basically useless; cRoc would be very good in certain situations, esp against titans.

Was really hoping it would do burn dot, since its summer, and sunburn happens. Now the sand damage overwrites normal Rana and both versions of Yunan.

It would make sense for SG as well, as people would then be chasing a complete trio of Yunan (sand), Rana (water) and Roc (burn dmg), all stackableā€¦

I hoped heā€™ll get Phoenix costume :fire:, it was obvious choice, but no, it would be too cool for SGG.

And I am sure like a lot of players find this frustrating that I have Rocc but he is useless and the only way I can get a good Rocc is to get lucky and pull him. Not enough meat on that portal to justify pulling any of the dregs I am sure to get.

As i have a yellow defense down in the form of Vivica-C, and have every hero in Sand Empire, minus Costume Roc, Iā€™ll be skipping this seasonal event

not good enough. still pretty useless

I know we arenā€™t supposed to post beta images but here is his costume

Yeah, similar for me. I have cRabbit and cViv for def down, and already have cYunan and all the 3 and 4ā˜†ā€™s from summer, so especially without costumes for the rare and epics, I donā€™t see why I should summon here instead of saving for Halloween (since itā€™s the one seasonal I donā€™t have any 5* from) or saving for the inevitable Pengi costume

Still going to pass on the entire eventā€¦ Weekā€¦ The pulling of heroes part

Not the first time theyā€™ve made the costume a direct buff to the original. The op mess that is Finley has shown that $G are willing to completely abandon game balance in the name of cash grabbing for profits

Tested him in beta and suggested that they also take the time to buff the original Roc when they release the costume.
However, even in costume, he needs a buff to do something more. Otherwise he will just sit in a holy queue waiting his turn for the mats.
As he is he wonā€™t be desirable and it wonā€™t drive players to spend to pull in this event
