The term Black Friday was widely used as far back as the early 70’s. I know, I remember. If you knew people in the retail industry, you would know that the term was used exactly to mean profits.
Retailers work on a June 30 business year for accounting purposes. That is fairly standard in the the industry as May & June are fairly slow months and a good time to do inventory valuation. When the business year starts in July, all eyes are on the Holiday buying season. A common expression is ‘we go black at Christmas’ which means that is when that is when they are first profitable. Up until that point retailers are primarily investing in more inventory than they are actually selling.

The Philly story was local and not recognized nationally and, as the article states, did not spread to the rest of the country. The term was used, but it wasn’t the true origin of the nationally recognized usage.
They mean that the only 5* there would be from last 2 years or at least with 2 years or more recent costumes. It doesn’t mean it will contain only 5* heroes. Though the wording does imply that.
“Only past 2 years” as if all heroes released a year ago weren’t irrelevant and outdated already. 2 years is a hell of a long time in terms of power creep
Well, there are also some fairy recent heroes/costumes I’d like not to pull, such as most of HotM or C-Exeera. And with addition of costumes the exclusion of S1 heroes is a curse rather than blessing, as most of Toon costumes are pretty powerful, especially with Superior (Master) Talents.
