Which is more effective as a defensive strategy for alliance wars for an "average" alliance (not top 100)

My alliance has tossed the idea around and has, at different times, done all 3. I think we’d be better suited to just set up our best defense. I just wanted to hear from others what their opinion was. I know the topic has been brought up, but no real “numbers” have been posted.

Tanks only and you can also add something like rainbow is preferred or two blues if your tank is green … etc…

Curious… Will the outcome of the poll help your alliance decision making??

I would vote for co-ordination of tanks, based on what is the strongest tank colour for the majority of your alliance.

IMHO team synergy is a more important consideration than matching war outfits.

Setting best defense is good in theory, but gives the attackers the advantage to stack a variety of strong heros for a smorgasbord of defense teams .

I really don’t think it will change our alliances decision. During the time we were doing best defense, we were having a stretch of wins…until we ran into a team that coordinated tanks. My alliance does have some issues that kind of makes me want to go to best defense.

  1. As a teaching alliance, we have quite a few teams that are just weak. I want them to have the experience of participating in wars, so we do allow them to be in the war. Unfortunately, they get rolled over several times. If they had their best defense in, they probably would still be rolled over, but not as bad.

  2. We have some people that have been in the alliance for a while that just don’t/can’t communicate. I suspect they are just non-English speaking. Nobody seems to want to kick them out, but they don’t coordinate like the rest of the team does.

This question has different answers depending on the level of your alliance.
If you have alot of newer players then best defence is normally the strongest.
If everyone has a well developed roster, then coordinating tanks starts to work.
If everyone has every hero in the game, taking coordination further starts to make sense.
