Hey guys!! This is my first post as I’m a newer player I usually just read the discussions but I can’t decide which 4* would be best for me to ascend first. I finally got the fine gloves I was waiting for (2 pair actually !! 
& now I can’t choose lol…
I use Grimm, Li Xiu and Griffin daily. I’d appreciate any advice you have to offer. Thank you !!
All great heroes! Here’s what I would do, your situation and needs may be different.
I’d do Li Xiu first and especially the 2nd costume. Her silencing in events is a game changer.
Next I would do Grimm (all costumes are good with him) or Colin for the 2nd costume. Both offensive stars.
I find Griffin the weakest of the 4, but not a bad hero by any means.

The S1 double costumes are generally speaking very strong compared to other 4 star heroes, so they should definitely have priority over Griffin.
Which one to do first depends mainly on who else you have, what teams you want to play with them etc.
Do you have other Defdown heroes? If not, then Grimm must be the first to max. After that, check if you have another hero with red elemental Defense down (even a 3 star exists: Bagreg), if not I would prefer Colen over Li Xiu. But also Li Xiu is an amazing hero, so you can´t go wrong wiith any of those 3. You can also just decide by what emblems you have most of.
Li Xiu is probably the one I’d want to max out and use first.
another vote for c2 Li Xiu, that silence is golden…

I am going to ascend Grimm tonight and Li Xiu next! I have to level her a little bit more (noncostume) because I loved her 2nd costume so I leveled it before I finished her regularly lol. Thank you so much for the advice 
Absolutely! It´s not wrong to max the costume first. It is much faster to do and you get a usable hero right away, but you have to max all the different versions anyway to get the full potential. Same for all the costume heroes.
In Li Xiu´s case the original is a very good hero, too and I personally prefer her for the tank position. Also you need the original maxed before you can start putting emblems on the hero. The other costumes have to be maxed to receive the costume bonus for the versions that you actually want to play with.
Okay, thank you!! I actually just learned about having the original hero maxed to use emblems, I tried to emblem my costume Melia the other day without the original maxed & it said to max the original first bc the talent grids are the same. I wonder if that means I would only emblem the original hero and it give her costume the same pattern and emblems? I’ll have to look that up!
I didn’t know that you needed the original hero and all versions of their costumes maxed for the costume bonus but that makes a lot of sense because I’ve noticed the percentages get higher the more I ascend, etc. Thanks again for the info!
That is exactly how it works. So if you want to mostly use a costume, you should emblem the original in a way that creates the best path for the costume, it´s a bit of roundabout thinking, but one gets used to it.
Strictly speaking you do not need the original for the costume bonus, only all the costumes. You get a small bonus every time you ascend a costume as well as when you max it. So for 3 star heroes there are 3 steps of the bonus, for 4 star and 5 star heroes you have 4 steps per costume.
The original needs to be maxed for emblems as well as for limit breaking. It follows the same rule, you can have a higher level on the costume compared to the original, but you cannot have a higher ascension, so no LB for a costume before you LB the original and same again for LB2.

Contact support. But it´s not an easy process from what I have heard, you need a lot of proof of all kinds of things. Receipts etc.
I’m my opinion, it depends on what you’re currently doing in-game. I still use Grimm and Li Xiu, but I use Li Xiu far more often. That’s because I’m done with essentially all map content though and have other defense debuff options in blue. He’s mostly relevant for 4-star events/tournaments only as part of my roster. Li Xiu, though, is an excellent option for any type of PVP so I use her for that regularly, and that’s more of a focus for me now.
If you’re still moving though maps levels and/or don’t have other defense debuff heroes, Grimm would probably more relevant to that stage of the game. I used him ALL THE TIME during that phase and definitely preferred him then.

That makes sense!! I’m definitely still going through the map-season III right now is what I’m mainly working through and Grimm is definitely one of my favorite if not my favorite lol. Li Xiu is still awesome tho, I use her in raids/wars and on stages I have trouble defeating the bosses. Thank you!!

If u have 2 pairs I’d definitely ascend c2Li Xiu first(I have lvl 44, but still don’t have her).
I have Griffin with costume, but u have not, so he’s probably last on ur list.
As 2nd one I’d choose c2Colen(I have him at 3/60, and he’s a god), he’s strong 3-hitter with EDD.
These are my suggestions as not that long time ago I was at ur level and I also have a level-13-alt so I know what r u talking about.
