I haven’t used her a lot in raids, yet.
I try to control the mana gains on one side of the board with her.
proteus on the other. I will try using her on both sides as has been mentioned previously.
A 3/2 purple yellow team.
A weird mix but it has done well so far, 2/2. :).
At 3:70 she was a bit fragile, same with Leo, which is why I wanted to ascend one of them.
Onatel would be better overall and great in a yellow stack. Her mana steal still allows the enemy to gain mana but at a slower pace and she gains the stolen portion.
Leo is a monster on offense once you get to ghost yellow tiles and he fits well in a rainbow team. What I wanna say is that once he gets his special firing, he is a one man army. Not the mightiest but definitely not one to be underestimated.
Lots of posters in this thread saying they never have trouble with Leonidas on defense and that’s understandable. He’s not a good defender because his special is average speed and doesn’t hit for as much as Joon.
But Leonidas isn’t a defense hero and shouldn’t be judged that way. He’s far better on attack, where you can pick who to Mana cut. That’s his best role. He’s also decent verses Titans.
That said I’d still likely pick Onatel, but I think it’s closer than some people think, as long as you’re comparing them fairly.
Listen to the doc! I’ve got 2 Leos. Took one to 2/60 because it was either him or Chao. Neither will get any mats. Rather feed yellow to my other colored heroes.
Yeah, i think she is a strategic/fun hero, but that really doesn’t suit my fighting style at all.
Her special has a really low damage output, and the mana draining (of couse) don’t take advantage of ghost tiles, which once the tank is out is my main strategy to take down all the others. (ghost tile still fill faster, and all the heroes linked to them benefit from it, not only Onatel)
Of course you can ghost a couple of times and then use the targeted hero to send tiles on them, but i don’t see her really much more effective then Leonidas.
And i even use Leo against titans, which i do not suggest to use Onatel because of her really low stats (same reason i do not use Justice even if maxed)
I really see Onatel as a game changer for newbies or average middle-tier players. She can really makes your way on quests and events that really was impossible to you before.
But for all other people, i can’t really see something that you can do with her and not with Leo.
And as many challenges require speed to be more effective, i still prefer a hero that works with better stats and require only 1 turn.
Even Leonidas save some of my worst raids, same as can do Onatel.
I had a mono raid with Onatel in my stack and really wasn’t getting any yellows. I was down to 3 when she finally fired and she single handedly defeated the other team going off 4-5 times.
I win a raid against Lianna, Alasie and Delilah with a lone half health Leo.
The preventing special and autocure is deadly if you know how to use it.
I killed both Lianna and Alasie before can shot, and leave Delilah cure herself when alone.
Her slice damage can’t prevail Leo autocure, and ghosting tiles making charge him before Delilah everytime after he shoot once.
I have Onatel at 70 and really enjoy her, i am actualy between her and Drake.
I definately would not go with Leonidas, but those who have him do think he is good.
One thing to consider about Onatel is she is an average mana hero, but after she fires a few things happen:
-250% damage to 3 heros
-Slows down 62,5% mana regeneration on those 3 heroes for 4 turns (the average of the four turns 25+50+75+100)
-Heals holy heroes 4% for 6 turns
-she changes from average to fast to very fast mana hero on turns 3-4 so most times her special will be up again even if you did not move any yellow tiles, many times her special is up at the 4th turn (which is not the best because you would chnage steal mana 100% to 25%)
Drake is a hero i don’t like facing in raids however, but i know he is a grade A hero.
Between Leonidas and Onatel id go with her for sure.
Drake and Onatel is a bigger trouble for me.
I have them both, and use them both. I would agree that Leo is a better choice for titans. But I’d definitely take Onatel before, say, Chao or Li Xiu in a yellow titan stack. The undispellable heal of other yellows alone is worth its weight in gold.
Ghosting the tank gap is an A+ strategy. But the gap is still only one tile wide. I find that Onatel saves marginal boards a lot more often for me than Leo ever has.
But yes, when Leo heals himself back from the brink with mana cuts, it is a thing of beauty
If your focus is on speed of single target burn-downs, I can see why you’d prefer Leo.
