Recruitment advice

Hi all. Apart from multi coloured global chat messages, :joy:, what’s your top tips for alliance recruitment?

Have a look at other alliance ads on the forum - especially those with hundreds of posts. Using the search tool to find similar threads, helps too.

Thanks Sarah2, I’m struggling to recruit. Most leaving due to too many quests, new heroes and moving more and more to p2p. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

FWIW, there are lots of great alliances already always looking for active daily players. F2P, vc2P If you have a reliable core of awesome players, and you share the role of recruitment, you’ll fill any empty spaces quickly.

Just state clearly your expectations of new recruits / a new alliance. GL

What ‘kind’ of alliance do you have?

I tried loads of ways to recruit. I wanted to avoid full colour chat ads at all cost. However, my alliance is an active, but not competitive one. Apart from me, most of my alliance never go on the forum or know what is going on in beta for instance. They just login daily, hit the titan, make some jokes and get a little miffed if someone misses war flags. The end of the story was that after all my recruiting efforts, it turned out that full colour global chat ads were a million times more effective at reaching that kind of player than anything else I tried. I try not to spam, but might put them on the recruitment chat 5 or 6 times a day and generally get about 3 people take them up in a week.

I guess the point I’m making, is know your audience and what they will look at and what will appeal to them. If you want people who take it seriously enough to go on the forums, put ads on the forums. Make it clear that you take it seriously too.

Looking at how others recruit may help, but don’t just copy them without thinking. If they are after a different kind of player to you, it won’t help to do what they do.

And if all else fails, take out some full colour ads!

Big flashy ads never seemed to draw in a lot of players - small size matters. Keep the ad short and put in the essential info (war flag expectations, tank color(s), titan sizes and expected contribution, approximate roster strength). Something witty drew attention.

Many players are not happy where they are. Starting conversations with players in global chats can reveal that. Occasionally they realize they would be happier in your alliance than their current home. Don’t badger. Let them know once you are interested and just have a conversation.

Ask your other alliance members if they have game friends that might be happier in your alliance than where they are. Telephone, television and tell a friend.

Have an alliance that establishes rules, communicated those rules and enforces those rules. When people join expecting something they should get delivered about what you told them. With that, we are all human and life happens. So be considerate when enforcing rules. But cliques and pets in an alliance turns players away. I left many alliances due to leaders giving special exemptions to selfish players.

One thing that worked well was having several alliance members show up in a global chat. And just shoot the breeze. EnP is a game folks play for fun. They see your alliance having fun. And they want that. We didn’t do it as a fake marketing ploy. We genuinely liked each other and those were organic, fun conversations. But we had them for all to see instead of in the alliance or a chat app. In one alliance, we always got someone to join within ten minutes. And we weren’t even actively recruiting in those conversations! After a few of those, we realized why we suddenly would get new members. One player, Samuel, was a strong player and a great person. We would have never had the luck of running into him if we weren’t out and about having fun in global.

Another trick was to raid to first place then go recruit. People like winners and want to be around them. We got players that way sometimes.

The two best are to have conversations with players in global and having fellow alliance members talk with their game friends who are looking for a new home.

Good luck!
