I am looking for advice on who to ascend for the following purple heroes.
Onyx
Malicna
Kunchen
Domitia

It would be helpfull if you could post your roster but I’m pretty sure that Onyx is best choice

Really depends on what you need. If you need a healer, Kunchen would be a good choice. If you need anything other than a healer, as @Radar1 said Onxy would be your best bet.

It really does depend on who you have in your roster. But at face value:
Onyx is your safe bet / best
Malicna is good but a gamble
Kunchen is still a great healer and ok tank
Domitia for dispel and really good if you get her costume
Whichever hero you choose good luck

Onyx is an irritable hero to face as a Ninja Tower boss but I almost exclusively avoid Ninjas in raid defenses. Forget why Onyx does, but I imagine whatever it is is quite dangerous at x3 mana charge.
People debate Malicna. Personally, she does something regardless, even though they made a choice over those “alternatives” when they could have just made those either be the third option or her doing three entirely different things other than “enemies get one debuff.”
Kunchen is still a great healer with the ability to set the entire enemy team with defense down debuff. I also wish I have him for the aesthetics. Maybe someday. If you’re lacking in healers (wish for more), this is a great option.
Domitia is a great sniper that could be used early before her costume is obtained. She essentially dispels target+nearby enemies of buffs and happens to have an elemental defense buff. If you’re lacking snipers, she’s the hero to focus on.

It would be easier to give more meaningful advice if you posted more context to your roster.
Without knowing what else your have maxed, I would say ascend Onyx first out of those 4. Most versatile hero out of those 4.
