In battles with multiple waves, the effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.

Reduces the amount of mana increased by Special Skill by -80%. The effect applies to all enemies in the battle.

  • All allies get a Moonrise Ward for 6 turns, that reduces the incoming Special Skill damage by -320. Reduces damage by additional 20% when attacker is Holy.
  • All allies get +24% attack for 6 turns.
  • All allies get +24% mana generation for 6 turns.

So something similar to jolly? Who is better then?

Both are great tanks in 3* Rush Tournament no purple. My Jolly is already maxed and LB so I won’t bother this hero.

Their skill mostly dis-intersect except mana-gen where Jolly is better.

I think use both of them has benefit. Fire the two altogether you almost neutralize 3* damage to (almost) zero. Jolly first reduce 50%, then this guy remove upto 320

Fire Jolly a bit after since his 35% managen is stronger.

I have to consult my advisor on this possible combo @u2371

Keep in mind that Paeia’s damage reduction isn’t always remove 320 damage. It is base is only 160. The 320 is max. Not always happen. This make Jolly’s 45% damage reduction better. Jolly’s 35% mana regen buff is obviously better than Paeia’s 24% mana regen buff. The things left are Jolly’s 475 overheal + minion vs Paeia’s +24% Atk + family bonus. With out any heal, I think Paeia is weak like 3* Guradian Owl. This is why Jolly is better than Paeia anyway.

It is true that you can combo Paeia and Jolly to neutralize all 3* damage but I don’t think that is useful because like Jolly+Faiex combo, Jolly+Paeia can be shut down with Joukahainen and Jolly alone is enough to make you become almost invincible.

One thing i think their combo is good since they are the same color so eaiser than Faiez, but true that Jouk can complete shut them down. Jouk is a true monster (perhaps only bear can help)


Since I pulled Paeia and already checked the Moonrise Strike mechanic for Featherino and Olbec, I tried to do the same for the Moonrise Ward mechanic.

Went for some tests in 8-4 against the bosses. My findings so far for Paeia 1-1:

  • Looks like a fixed reduction value is subtracted from the calculated damage value (which itself varies by ±5%), which makes it harder to analyse than the MR Strike damage
  • The damage reduction depends on the difference between the attacker’s in-fight base attack value and the defender’s defense in-fight base value, i.e. with troop bonus (tap on a hero during battle to see these values)
  • For all owls the card description mentions the max damage reduction. The base damage reduction is 50% of the max damage reduction and the min damage reduction is 25% of the max value. (tap on the “?” for this info)
  • The more attack the attacker has, the lower the damage reduction will be
  • For Paeia at 1-1 the damage reduction seems to follow a straight line:
    damage reduction = - base damage reduction / 1000 x (attack - defense) + base damage reduction (probably round down)
    (the “-” makes the difference between the formulas for the MR Strike an the MR Ward)

At 1-1 Paeia has a max damage reduction of 40, which means a base damage reduction of 20.
=> damage reduction = - 0.02 x (attack - defense) + 20 (probably round down)

=> According to this damage reduction formula you get

  • max damage reduction when the attack value is 1000 smaller than the defense value
  • min damage reduction when the attack value is 500 larger than the defense value

I expect that this also applies accordingly to Relius and his MR Ward.

The left boss in S1 8-4 does 95% to all, which came in handy for this analysis.

Love the artwork. But at the speed and utility she is providing, she is not outstanding even in rush. I only won once in defense this week by slotting her in.

Jolly is far superior imo. Paeia really needs another skill and does not do enough to justify being Very Slow. To be honest Im surprised she doesn’t heal at all, but even a cleanse or dispel would do.

Paeia isn’t bad, if someone doesn’t have Jolly, I think Paeia could be quite useful. But if you have both, Jolly is def the one to focus on.

I wouldn’t use both, but if anyone does, make sure to fire Paeia first. Her mana boost is only +24% which will only lower one tile in Rush. Jolly’s mana boost is +35% which can reduce 2 tiles (from 7 to 5). Very helpful in 3 Rush without mana troops

She’s good but her special is mostly overwrought by Jolly at VF
