Noor – 5* Fire/ Red - July 2020 HOTM (Hero of the Month)

No problem, send me all the other great minion summoners and I will work with them.
In fact I don’t have others, so excelling the game with what you have is what this game is about.:man_shrugging: Crying for nerfs, buffs or whatever may the easiest way, but not the way I chose.

Worthless cute sparrow girl…

My rush attack defense was an A with losing only 1 out of 14 attacks. I had Lianna+6–Kunchen+8–Noor(No Emb)–Justice +1–C Sartana +4. Also I used the same Noor in almost all raids in the rush tourney I did not do monos but 2-2-1 or 3-1-1. I literally survived 3 fights coz of her minions to turn the tide and win. She is not a game breaker but I like what she has done for me in the last few weeks. She is also in my S3 rainbow auto farm team. I am still on auto farm in S3 lvl 20. She is a great meat shield. and those minions saved my against LOTL Freya, MN, Sheshat and Santa so many raids. Shs is a permanent fixure in my red mono and in all minion raids. Just my opinion. I am not a pay to win player, so I am happy with what i got.

Thanks for the videos. I have Noor but haven’t touched her yet. I can see how she made a difference in your survival on the team you use. I never thought Noor was a terrible hero, just didn’t know what to make of her and now I can see how on the right team she can be an asset.

Would you mind giving me your Mitsuko though?

Now that I’ve watched that video, I want Mitsuko. She’s awesome.

My opinion on the cute bird girl has not changed though lol.

Has anyone tried using a red stack consisting of Puss in Boots and 1 or more Noors? In paper this sounds very viable method of using her.

I was thinking what a 5 noor team would be like, facing a tel + other summoner team. Hard to see it getting killed off, although if you dont quite have the tiles you may end up out of time…

If Tel is the only healer, you don’t need to worry about time.

If i had the 4 extra noors + 24 extra rings i would have definitely done it.
5 killer minions spawning every time an opponent spawns a minion… wow

Watching plays of turn based strategy games lately really made me reconsider noor. she makes you think of the importance of health and numbers and Brute forcing/speed isn’t the only way to play the game. Health boost is not a revolutionary mechanic invented by S3. In fact it has been done way before by Delilah’s minions.
Seshat uses 9 turns setting up her minions, that’s 600-700 extra hp a sniper has to go through which is huge. (I don’t have seshat so I don’t know how much hp her minions have). And with Noor, that 600-700 extra hp is removed just by some sparrow. Granted if the sparrow allows seshat to even replicate her minions in the first place.
Just having one minion with 200+ extra hp on the enemy, that’s 200+ extra hp a sniper has to go through first. This could mean the difference between the enemy surviving or dying
Even without minions, she adds extra defences on your team. And again that’s 300-400 extra hp the enemy has to go through first. That’s the difference between surviving and dying from enemy fire. She’s so beefy with her sparrows she doesn’t need emblems most of the time.
Way too underappreciated and overlooked because her tactics does not compliment in game of chance. On a different game with strategy involved she would be quite good at what she does. In fact I might say quite OP in certain situations.

I like your write-up. Do you have her/use her?
The main reason that she is almost universally trashed is:

  • She is slow (65% of the player base has just tuned out now)
  • Her main special only does one thing (20% more out)
  • Her main special does not do any damage (10% out).
  • 1/5 of the last 5% have levelled her, used her, and still don’t like her as she doesn’t fit their play style.

Against Telly teams where Tell casts first, she becomes the hardest-to-kill hero with a boost of 375ish HP. That self summon is easily the best innate ability of any other hero (compare that with Raff’s attack protection ability for a contrast). That and her high defense mean that she will usually be around until the end of the match, however that ends up playing out.

The 1000+HP boos of full minions for all heroes is huge for any PVE format - it will let you get through the toughest levels and shave time on event stages .

In raids most people struggle with her slowness, but I have found with my team that it is not an issue (would I enjoy her more at average - yes). Even slow she tends to fire 2 or 3 times per winning match, and winning matches are around 80% for me. At 375hp per minion, 2 self-heals, 2 specials (conservative average) we are talking about a 4,500 HP boost across all heroes, stackable, and never wasted. That is huge, especially when paired with a healer like Grazul or BT. They come early game (self-spawn) and mid to late game (special) but against top level Tel teams they are still absolutely required and helpful for me as my result is definitely not guaranteed once I kill Tell. For my battles killing Tel is only a quarter of the battle and her merry band of thugs can easily crush me if I make any mistakes in timing or boardplay. Noor gives a good buffer that allows the others to survive and put together the specials and tiles to kill everyone else off.

The minion eating powers are icing on the cake. They won’t insta-kill minions on Tel or Vel but they do 200HP worth of auto damage on anyone else with a minion. They completely nullify Seshat, who sitting in the corner before had the ability to re-spawn her minions over and over again until she decimated your team.

I like my Noor, and she will keep her place in my primary anti-tel team for the forseable future. I actually like her so much and got so much use out of her that I stripped Vel of her emblems so I can emblem Noor up more

Unfortunately, I have not trained her because I have other red projects and she isn’t top priority.
She does reminds me of that strat game I mentioned and I could pick up some similarities between one of the characters and Noor. And that character is considered quite OP for what she does.
I do agree Noor’s slow (even average would be an improvement) but this just means she’s impacts more on a mid to endgame match

She introduced variety I guess. I might sound like a snob here but it takes someone who knows the inside-out of a game to truly appreciate characters like Noor. Sometimes it’s the little mechanics that impacts the game. And again as I mentioned, numbers matter.
If E&P wasn’t so RNG heavy and geared towards more strategy, she will be appreciated by more players.
What sounds ‘boring’, ‘plain’ or ‘useless’ to one person, another person would look at it and think this is the most OP ■■■■ out there.

This is certainly not a full endorsement as mine is only about halfway leveled up. But I recently used her on my last lowest war flag for a mop up on a significantly stronger team, and her little birdies helped secure the win.

Will withhold final judgment until she’s fully finished.

I don’t know if she’ll ever be my first choice in reds, but I’m not tossing her out yet. :slightly_smiling_face:

Anyone explored a possible synergy between Noor and (newly buffed) Baldur? Her minions will keep his boosted health and thus his auto attack up (they look cute together don’t they?)

I will be happy if i find both of them on the same defense team as they are not a threat at all.

I will prioritize killing the other 3, while noor and baldur will become my dessert

Eh, I don’t think anyone is arguing that they are suitable for defense. LOL.

Though I did face a heavily emblemed Baldur once in the recent Field Aid Wars and he was a pain to take out, as by then most of my hitters were dead too.

I like it. These 2 could potentially stay alive a very long time too, Noor with self summons and Baldur with his boost.

Noor + Baldur
Noor + LOTL
Noor + Freya

These are the good syngergies I have come across to date. Sadly I don’t have any of those team up options. Essentially if you can use her minions to strategically protect other minions or heroes, or to do something to magnify their compound pecking effect to create a strong DOT then you have a powerful secondary effect happening

Baldur works the same as Morgan le fay in war. Keep him at the wings and watch him keep firing

This may have already been brought up, but the following teams would be fun to try in a raid when the opponent is right. I only listed the heros I have and unfortunately I don’t have a minion-generating hero for blue or yellow.

I still think the slow Noor is just a big insult, compared with Freya. Freya gives not only this minions, but really powerful defense. She may do this with great 4+3 with 23 troops & emblems… When she dies she cut enemies mana…

I understand that stimulate for more money with 0,3% or <0,1% chance way more easier than with 1,3%, but even Grimble already was a nicer, 3x3 and gives mana, damage can be greater with Tib-costume and Rig-costume.

I even understand that if Noor will be average she will be even greater against rare Lake Lady. But, hey. When 1,3% fast Seshat just killed 0,2% average Guinevere - nobody thought it is a little strange, everybody were happy. So I just want to ask, why Noor must be way worse than Seshat? Or if the vision of game balance has changed so much over the year, then why Seshat, Fong, Neith and many others, wich still are better than most event heroes - then why are they all not nerfed on the poor Noor`s level?

Noor today is useless crap in defense and she is too slow in attack. And Seshat is very nice in defense and she is just great in attack. So is Noor HoM at all? Or she will be a maximum piece of crap until she will be added to the lucrative Tavern?) It would be nice to just know, after 2 months of her in-game life…
