Not that was fast!
I had my troop converted and maxed in a few minutes. Had prepared a lvl. 26 troop weeks ago,
and with lots of feeder troops and more than 30 mio iron in crates (needed some 5 mio iron from lvl.1 to 30) it was no problem.
And I am far away from a whale (not even a dolphin).

I have to admit, converting a red troop for the wizard/ranger one for cMarjana is very tempting, as i also have her second costume (which is ranger). I’m curious, why did you go with the ranger troop? personally, i think I’d prefer the special boost over the attack reduction mitigation despite having a couple of percent less attack maxed although there’s really probably not much difference really.
and btw, I have 26/17/11/11/11 mana/magic in all colors, because i like to go 4-1 most of the time and mono during rush. but that is also why i am out of feeders in almost every color. i only got the ones from 23 to 26 thanks to the trainer troops last week. but red happens to be the one color where i have a significant amount of feeders left for some reason.
I did get my shiny new purple unwavering cleric to 26 though before i ran out of purple feeders.

Defense down resist (unstoppable fighter) is better on defense. Because opponents will cast defense down together with 3x hero damage to try to kill in one turn while you have full HP. Nothing is more important then keeping your hero alive so they can have a chance to cast.
The Ranger troop has 4% more attack, and I had some 3000 Ranger emblems.
I have two maxed c.Marjanas, so this troop will support at least two attack teams.
In VF it may be good for Gefjon too.
With only one costume, her survivability was beginning to become sn issue with the newest heroes. The 5 * troop helps a lot.

The problem is not the feeder troops, the problem is the ham!
As an ftp your access to ham is a lot more restricted than even for a ctp.
The only ham I buy is the one i get from POV/POG rewards.
But I agree lvling troops took ages, it seems a lot easier now with the updates. I just dont see it as a part if the game were my spending (roughly 50 USD pr. Month) gives me that much of a difference
So… Someone here had to keep track of the xp required to level a 5*… 41k is the last number i heard… But I’d prefer accurate numbers.
I’m trying to understand this correctly - the passives and the extra bonus modifier % (bottom row on troop stats under regular modifier %) only are applied if the hero is one of the troops classes. Is it correct that the passive won’t work on any other hero outside these 2 classes?

Thanks just wanted to make sure before deciding. Have a few clerics from a couple years ago sitting around 26 that I don’t use too much that could be safely converted I think.
Now if only could find the amount of XP needed ahead of time to fully max - haven’t been able to get a straight answer on that either.
My estimate was 36k xp. Another said 41k per a video of one of his teammates… So somewhere in that range.
If that’s the case then the Cleric might be better, because that 4% extra defense might even make more difference than the 8% defense down reduction? Not sure how one would calculate that but it’s just an educated guess

Anything is possible. No one knows for sure.
They will cycle through the class pairings… But i don’t know… Seems like they will do it every two weeks. Once a month would surprise me
