Let's play "who get's the tabards" featuring Deadboot & Rochefort [poll]

Have 6 tabards for one of the following. I have a deep roster & typically level heroes that offer an impactful/unique special & passives. Will be used in offense.

  • Deadboot
  • Rochefort

There’s lots of arguments for each hero. I’m better at talking myself out of things.

DEADBOOT - VF with a special that can neutralize a taunt or hippo-style special. I’ve been down this road & was excited to level Goretooth, but he’s never quite fit into my offense. I don’t have Darkfeather.

ROCHEFORT - doesn’t have the heal to go along with cover. Hard hit to 3, great stats & I use Tetisheri (similar concept, different effect) on the reg. I have all Musketeers.

Thank you & happy gaming! :cupcake: :ghost:

Depends on what you want to use the hero for? Offense/Defense? Tank/Wing? Is taunt a problem when you attack? Is getting 9 tiles a problem when you attack?

Goretooth/Deadboot will kill anything with 6 tiles

Rochefort doesn´t work so well with Goretooth, but maybe better with something else you have.

I think if you can answer such questions, you will get a much better result than asking random people what they prefer.

Thank you @gargon! I should clarify. My point mentioning Goretooth was to show I’ve been excited about a good sniper in the past and never found a use on offense or defense after investing the tabards. In wars I opt for Kushanku or Waddles over Goretooth. I don’t plan to pair Goretooth with Deadboot or Rochefort.

Great question about intended use. For both would be purely offensive & for war.

Well Goretooth and Deadboot is definitely a viable option. I personally don´t have deadboot, but I use Khonshu instead. Killing a hero in 6 tiles is a powerful weapon. And I just finished Rochefort and am planning on adding him to those 2 snipers. the 3 will synergize very well (Deadboot wouldn´t work as well as Khinshu in the 3-stack though, because he is not full a second time on match 3).

I wasn´t thinkng that was the only possible use for you though, I only mentioned Goretooth, because he is the only one you mentioned. Not much point me talking about combos with heroes you may not even have. What I am trying to say is just picking 1 out of 2 heroes is a rather nonsensical exercise when comparing high quality heroes. One hero by themselves is nothing, it´s the team that matters and different teams need different heroes.

If you ask me if Deadboot or Sartana is better, I don´t need additional information, Deadboot will always be the better choice.

And btw if you don´t like Goretooth, you are not using him right, he is absolute top notch for even a variety of uses. I use him in both damage stacks (see above), support stack (together with a healer, often Anna-Belle) and even on titans for one of the best purple defdowns in the game.

And yes Waddles and especially Kushanko are also great  I would most definitely use all 3 every war. And more than that! Preferably in various colors of course, but in the end a hero like that (or more than one) isn´t ever wrong to have along.

I appreciate the feedback & insights. Certainly some food for thought.

Before Gelert, I struggled with fitting snipers to my play style. No doubt there are better ways to build teams around them and ways I am not thinking of yet.

Thank you! :cupcake:

Id do Rochefort. But that is because i don’t have him and i really wanted him. Deadboot is great, i limit broke mine. But he hurts one character, id be more inclined to choose darkfeather because his ability makes your whole team stronger.

You cannot go wrong leveling either, but Rochefort is a little bit better in my opinion. Once you have both leveled id use rochefort first and then deadboot to kill the target and give everyone the damage.

Congrats on having a decision everyone is jealous of.

It used to be less useful to play with snipers until LB2 happened and made many classic kill3 teams useless. Before that the only place I played a sniper was together with a healer in a support stack in order to take out a wounded enemy before they could fire. I had very few snipers in my roster. I found 4 star heroes often good enough and had lowest priority for 5 star snipers.
But also because snipers used to be largely useless heroes as they had no powerful skill besides the damage to one. Nowadays snipers do a whole bunch of things besides the damage and Gelert, Deadboot and Goretooth are great examples of that. Compare how Kageburado morphed into Deadboot  And Kage was one of the best ones then with the dispel. Most had far less utility than him, a little dot to one or a little buff/debuff.

Thank you all for the inputs. Rochefort it is!

Deadboot will be next once I have the tabards.
