Hello! What is your 5* troop strategy, how did you decide to pick the troop you’ve picked, is it for your offensive or defensive hero? I would like to start but there are so many choices and so many heroes. I just don’t know which one to pick. Thanks a lot and good gaming…

Good question! Honestly I use heroplan.io, it sorts the heroes by class so you can look at all the different possibilities. First I converted was a red cleric/fighter specially for my 2LB gestalt, but it also was useful for toon boldtusk and a few other. Blue was harder because I have a lot of good wizards, ultimately I went for rouge for my 2LB Fizzcoil and it also helped paladin Frida.
Next up will be my yellow crit troop I got to 27. Slam dunk in Holy, I have a ton of clerics with C Gazelle being a fighter. I love the strategy of the new legendary troops!

I did dark first because toon.obakan is my top hero by far (combo of power and newness). It also helps freya, kage, and viscaro.
I did holy second in part because I had a high crit troop already and because dark tanks are so prevalent. I considered fighter class but chose monk as the 11% mana won’t be enough in all situations for my fast fighters. But monks have 4% emblem node so I’m safe. This applies to drake and joon who are my top two holy heroes used.
Blue will be next because c.morel is my newest new hero. There is less overlap here so not as good of a choice.
I’m making decisions for my best heroes right now but that aren’t as likely to long term screw me.
I optimize for offense.
I also considered which elements I had the most feeders in but by the time the feature was announced I was set. What I do for my with troop will be more of a question.

I made a spreadsheet of my 5 and 4* heroes but color and by class… And then compared the heroes i have that i use most often, that would benefit from a 5* troop. If they are fast, they won’t benefit from the mana gen.
What i did… Is go dark for c alfrike and ludwig. It also benefits a rogue or two i have.
Then i went red 5* for Ray and hathor. Hathor has a 4% mana emblem… So she does benefit when paid with the 5*.
Next will likely be green, arco leafwhisk and relius are my best… But i will probably use relius in every war, so I’m leaning him. I use arco more on offense… I have no decent barbarians… So that blows.
Long term… I’m only doing 1 5* each. I presume they will release a second 5* option based on styx or magic… So i want to build up my stores again.
