I just want to say that people look at the card and think that JF is Kunchen counter, but the fact is different. As someone noted, if you cannot kill Kunchen then he will cleanse the DoT and by that time, the flanks are going to punish you.
Here i found maxed JF with emblems. Thanks to Robson from 7dr that maxed JF so quickly so his strength on defense can be examined
I’ve faced Jean Francois a few times and he was easily dealt with, even letting him charge up and fire. I’m not a beta tester and have no idea what his original stat and special was but I’m thinking they clipped his wings a bit too much.
Again, Beta Testers aren’t responsible for the figures or what the change actually is. All they do is advise if a change is needed & can put forward suggestions…
SGG Developpers are the ones who actually make the change lol
The problems that make me think JF weak is that his DoT damage applied the next turn after he cast it make him not deadly.
The DoT should applied immediately after he fires should make him scarrier.
At this current state, JF seems not a major threat. Still far behind GM.
The advantage from having JF is his 2nd and 3rd ability that would be useful on offense
I mean it probably shouldn’t/didn’t, but, did your opinion change after seeing him actually released for realz, @Guvnor?
Did i not mention that what is neutralized is defense down in my previous posts? I believe most if not all players, me included, know that JF will not effectively kill kunchen with JF’s DOT when most of kunchen tanks have 1500 hp?
Again, i am not referring to killing kunchen, i was referring to neutralizing his defense down?
And some beta testers are very good at math pursuits ppl that he is very good at current form
I don’t think so, he will keep telling ppl that JF is monster once maxed emblem
…and claims of him being on par with Gravemaker
At this rate we have to start a “Buff x HotM” on each release day
Not really. Its the same build as I tested in beta.
I still think that he is a good substitute for GM. Not the same (but thats the point) but different.
Not necessarily always good-different but not always bad-different either…
But yes, I still 100% believe that he is on par with GM & pretty well interchangable with GM in a Red-Stack team.
Also @robin102 I’ve never once said that he will be a monster when emblemed… That’s someone else.
I think Grazul and Anzogh are monsters… whether emblemed or not.
I really want to contest that. If there was a poll on Feb 28 asking all owners of JF if they would trade in JF for GM or not, I want to see what general public has to say
This message wont make me popular and im sure they have good intentions but beta should just be about fixing glitches then letting sg release a hero however they see fit.
We are at a place where the strongest fire hero was released 2yrs ago. On multiple occasions we have seen sg “over nerf” yet beta continue to recommend nerfs on anything strong. Its time to let the game grow and evolve not reach its peak years ago and become stale.
Once again im sure there are good intention but its pretty clear the feedback system isnt working.
On the “Not the same but different” point in this.
The point of having different heroes is that you have different combinations of skills & builds… JF was never meant to be the same as GM. The fact that he’s similar is a bonus to any player who didn’t get GM in his initial release or the subsequent Atlantis Featuring…
You want to contest my opinion?
Also Why would the poll be about if people would trade in their GM? I’m saying (and have been saying):
- Players who don’t have GM will be happy with JF. He’s similar in nature & burniness
- Players who DO have GM will be happy to get JF too… It adds depth to war teams etc…
Just a FYI but testing heroes in Live Capacity is actually one of the things that SGG expect from their Beta Testers…
Check the most recent AMA that SGG did with the Moderators. There’s an entire section about what SGG expect from the beta testers.
So it’s Beta’s Testers fault? Not SGG for applying the “Over-Nerf”?
Does that make it the Traffic Lights fault when a driver runs a red light and runs over some kid, killing them instantly? No. The traffic light signals intent… The driver of the car is the one at fault.
For your information, SGG has told us what they view as betas role.
This thread is not about beta. Thoughts on Jean are welcome.
Yeah. I am not convinced he’s on par with GM at all. I was never convinced by the math and seeing raid videos posted so far, I’m still not convinced he’s on par.
If an owner trades in a hero for another, then that tells you something right? If they are on par why would anyone really bother trading in?
I could show you a hundred raid vidoes of me trashing GM… makes him useless then right?
But that’s your opinion… I have mine based on my experiances with swapping GM & JF in/out of teams…
You’re entitled to your opinion as I am to mine…
