Day 5
- Offense: 4-1 (23-2)
- Defense: C
Lost my second attack, but defense got to C. Ended in top 1%, ranked around 6k.
Got eht and 20 ranger emblems, so not bad I guess.

Finished top1% but just as last week the loot was again more on the bottom end of the rng spectrum… Paid 75 gems for 3 silver summon tokens and red book, yay!
Results: top 1%. Offense 23-2. Defense C-D-D-D-D (as far as I could tell). Got a nice chunk of rogue emblems for Kestrel once he final ascends.
Also pulled a yummy Nashgar snack with the gray token that my Sailor Lianna ate.
Got a 4* snack off the ETT.
Work has been busy, so I opted not to do daily updates — so this is my only post since before the Tournament started.
This is the first Tournament where I’ve ever used the same team on Offense for every attack:
I went 24-1 overall, which is pretty on par with my experience with the last several 4* Raid Tournaments.
One day perhaps I’ll finally get to 25-0.
The only team I lost to was this one, and it was from a board I couldn’t figure out how to work my way out of:
I tried an experiment this time, using an atypical tank, wanting to evaluate whether the added survivability of a dropped color matters.
I’ve decided based on my experience in the last several 4* Tournaments on Offense, and looking at the performance of my Defense teams and other people’s in the last several 4* Tournaments that the color limitations very rarely matter, especially if your Defense Team gets matched a lot.
So my conclusion is that when setting Defense Teams for 4* Tournaments, planning around the color restriction should be an extremely low priority, or ignored outright.
I’ve said before that I think people overvalue the benefit of the color restrictions, and that you shouldn’t choose a weaker team just to use the color restriction advantage — so this is just stating an even stronger conclusion of its unimportance.
This is a somewhat disappointing realization, in that it means Defense Team variety isn’t as important in 4* Tournaments as I wish it were. Basically, you could devise your best option for each Special Rule, and ignore the color restrictions, other than swapping out a disallowed hero.
This is the team I ran this time as an experiment:
As usual, I got attacked nonstop, and my Defense Grade slid up and down during each day, but landed back low by the end of the day.
I had 1600 points from my Defense this time, which I think is the lowest I’ve gotten — but it didn’t matter for my Ranking.
I finished in the Top 1%.
Sort of middle-of-the-road for Top 1%. I’ve had better and worse.
The Emblems really saved it.
22 W - 3 L
I used the following team for all 25 of my attacks.
No greens meant that this team did not have any weakness, plus lot of red tanks made this team a great choice. Neutral against all other tanks, and costumed Rigard was the MVP of the team when I couldn’t find blue tiles and had to work the board. Proud of him.
E - B - C - C - C
Started off bad, but atleast redeemed itself a little bit in the latter half. On hindsight, should have gone with a mono blue team.
Top 1%
Overall, a very satisfying tournament. Was able fight all 25 battles without any gem continue, so made good progress on the PoV challenge. 30 emblems are always welcome (they will go to Melia and Belith), and one EHT which I am probably gonna save for Sand Empires.
Same for me. Last tournaments I mainly used to color stack against the tank. This time I mostly stuck to the team I also used for defense, with just 3-4 fights where I made minor changes and it worked quite well.
I’d like to add that it probably didn’t matter because of your offense results. For me, who barely manage to finish a tournament without re-buying it is often the defense that makes the difference whether I finish top 1% or top 5%. I usually end up winning 19-21 offense raids.
Intriguing point regarding the color restrictions. I used to consider them a lot and will have that in mind the next times I set up my team. Also lately I got more succesful with my defense and they fail less than before. And discussing my set up here and reading the thread really helped me this time to choose the right heroes!
Won my last 2 battles obviously (after rebuy I lose about 5% of my matches, adding to the conspiracy theory).
20 emblems plus ETT for top 5%, actually better loot than what I usually get for 1%.
That was one of my better weeks. Finished in the top 25% with a B Defence grade (thanks for the advice about that) I don’t pay to continue so I was out on Wednesday but I got a lot further than I have recently. Bring on the next one!
OMG!! I made too 5%! Thank you all so much!!
As predicted I jinxed it…started out 4-1 and finished 5-4 (20-5 on offense, all losses coming from riposte)
As assumed and expected from the beginning as I read the „title“ of the tournament it was one for learning. First two days were completely something for the . Only losses but I bought „extra time“ because wanted to learn. At the end 17-8 with the last loss at the last battle; so the journey ended just like it had begun.I have also definitely to improve my defence too. D-rank with 33.3% win ratio.
Top 10% with 12899 points and () an ETT.
Great work surprising how much more your roster can do when you think through options eh?
