100 gems to bring him to battle, or 100 gems per special. At very fast mana, that could add up quicklyâŠ
If it makes you feel better, jean will be an excellent flank for ursena
So thereâs that to look forward to
You are right. Thanks for mentioning her.
But costume chamber comes once a month and costume quest provides us with 1 summon only unless gems are spent on them. F2p and c2pâs chances are still low and they have to pay to get her costume unlike those that can be summoned from tcâs like rigard.
In addition, bringing a 4* hero like rigard and a glass cannon like costumed sonya, against an expectedly full 5* hero team with JF brings a disadvantage still.
IMO, making him average speed is one way to balance him just to narrow the mana speed gap between him and average and slow cleansers.
BTW, i donât have GM and only have nat. So fast or average speed, i would love to have JF who will definitely be better than my nat.
What would be suitable damage for him at fast mana, in your estimation considering that those who played with him in beta who have commented here (and common sense) seem to be in agreement about 400-450 at fast mana being still quite good but balanced. Are you thinking like 300-350 for Very Fast?
The most obnoxious part is the not knowing. Until final forms are announced or at the very least some changes are made my gems are essentially frozen. Iâd love to pull for misandra next Atlantis, but Jean (and to a slightly lesser extent Telluria) are mandatory to remain competitive in their current states. Iâd love it if they were good, but balanced, and i could chase them but know that I could still be relevant without them. As it stands, anyone pushing for the top MUST have these heroes, or theyâre losing a lot of ground to big spenders in a way that no previously released heroes have done.
While Sonya is not a glass canon as her defense is on par with 5*, unfortunately her HP is low which is a bad thing to have against DoT.
Snow white is a usable counter to JF if you time it right, but she is slow so she definitely wouldnt be my first choice
I donât like the idea of having to work my sucks off against a guy Iâd usually sweep through either, but probably thatâs what this game needs atm. You see, there are guys who have tons and tons of good heroes already and itâs discouraging for newer comers to get in the game just to find themselves not having a chance against older players. A hero like this would give them something to look forward to.
I remember when I started playing my first heroes were Khionna and Aegir, not the best, nonetheless I played enough until January when I got Onatel(we all know how great she is) that is what really get me into the gameâand for some of you that kind of experience maybe true too.
Letâs face it, we, seasoned players, are not the only source of revenue for the game and it needs new players to keep the base strong and we need them to keep the game going on. While for some of you this nerfed hero would be a reason not to bench another great hero, for newer players it would be something to feel happy and excited about.
Although I am no longer a P2W, still looking forward to JF release come february.
With all the talk of JF being OP, wondering to what extend SG will nerf JF .
Just like emblems, JF will be an another reason to go mono.
I donât see any reason. JF is manageable in defense. Much weaker than GM in defense. So I donât see how JF has any influence on mono or 3-2. The real issue with JF is in attack, not defenses. Because with him in my line-up, I decimate quickly any defense, no matter how strong it is.
I canât imagine how new players with low ammount of EHT/Atlantis or Challenge Coins will be excited for an OP hero they only have slight chance to get without much spending.
I guess thatâs subjective. For me, newer players are people who have been playing the game less time than me.
As I said, I didnât spend much either until i got Onatel. Damn Onatel, my wallet hates her, lol
Even if we assume all newer players are moderate spenders (they arenât, but for the sake of humoring your argument), how does this help them bridge the gap between them and older whales? Are older spenders somehow precluded from also getting Jean (if anything arenât they probably more likely toget him since theyâve been accumulating gems/tokens longer)? Also, if your argument is that new players are the lifeblood of our game, use a little foresight and tell me what having a crazy hero like JF does to the new player base who either doesnât get him or attempt to start playing seriously after his release. The universe doesnât come to an end in February, and making the gap between older and new incoming players (or players who may otherwise have gotten more into the game and contemplated becoming a spender) significantly wider than it is today can do nothing other than discourage new players and enforce the notion that you must pay to win.
Also, tell me what JF does to the F2P, C2P, or even moderate spender playerbase that dont happen to obtain him (FAR MORE will fail to get him than will). Wonât that be demoralizing for those players who have worked hard to try to keep pace with spenders suddenly finding themselves falling lightyears behind overnight?
Lol honestly no clue what youâre talking about
When i started playing there was no atlantis; we only had 1 challenge event and there was no sign of past hotm ever returning
Also didnt have seasonal quests or costumes or all this other crap
I still didnt cross my fingers hoping devs would produce a hero broken enough that would put me on the same level as veterans
Game takes time
Any player thinkin theyâll catch up to 2 yr veterans within their first year of playing without dumping thousands and thousands and thousands into the game, is in for a huge disappointment no matter what hero SG releases. Thatâs 100% fact.
So letâs come back to earth now and have a conversation thatâs on the same planet hereâŠ
Should probably mention that newer players who donât have many maxed 5s; just about any chance for a new 5* is exciting for them. Have you seen how many maxed Atomos are running around?
We clearly differ in our points of view and thatâs ok, what bothers me is your way of voicing it. In your response you mention JF all the time but the quality substance I see in it is overwhelmed by this sentiment of attack against my opinion. It gives me the sensation that I offended you with what I said and you come back on the offensive. Is it what it is, a different point of view from yours offends you and you feel the need to crush down different opinions?
I think I can safely assume youâve been playing for a really long time compared to me(and a lot of other people)and can be a trusted source of experience, I respect that. However, my point of view comes from a guy and as a guy who have played the game for a short period of time whoâs voicing his opinion thinking that out there are more people with the same range of experience as me so opinions like yours and mine can be taken into consideration when making a decision, not really trying to step on yours at all.
Feel free to address the points and drop the victimhood routine, thatâs how honest discourse is had. It is offputting, transparent, and telling that so many fall back to this instead of open discussion.
I just donât see what there isnât to be excited about as a short term player
I mean the # of new heroes to a new player they can obtain vastly outnumber the amount of ânewâ heroes i can obtain. Itâs literally down to less than 10 currently released heroes that i donât have and odds of getting the rest are so poor at this point that i barely even summon anymore unless Iâm just goofin off
(which kinda was always the case but i still had âhopeâ of something new where now itâs expected to either feed everything i pull to a project or just hoard the duplicate 5*(s) i get for hero academy)
I mean if a player doesnt have a majority of the 5* heroes from events, past hotm, atlantis, and seasonal quests then i guess Iâm not seeing where the lack of excitement for possibly obtaining new heroes is coming from
With all due respect to the strongly worded points of view, I do not believe that offering an outstanding HOTM once in a while will alter the calculus between free and cash players. If anything, it will increase interest in the game for everyone. The amount of debate around that question supports that conclusion.
On a side note, I do not believe that JF is a game changer by any means, although he will be a very interesting HOTM, and I will try to pull him, assuming he stays the same when released. Although his damage over time is a lot, it also is diminished quite easily by Rigard or other cleanser. Most medium to high level players have a Rigard in their inventory. Even a lot of new players too.
I think a lot of the debate has been about War Defenses.
Having a cleanser or two for Raids isnât a gigantic deal overall, though itâs still a limiting factor. I personally didnât even get my first 4* healer for 5 months, and Iâve seen worse. Even an unmaxed JF would have been certain death for me back then.
But having cleansers for every War hit â and wanting to build a team around them â is considerably harder.
