There also other options, Costumed Melendor would mitigate quite a bit of the damage through HoT as well
Undeniably, there are several countermeasures for Jean. But with their present level of power, they are not enough to keep the balance between those who will have it and those who will not. I think some adjustments, not too aggressive, can take it from overpower, but keep it excellent.
Letâs see what his next beta will look like.
I agree - I guess where the alternate point of view is coming from is the thinking âAll I need is to pull JF or Telluria and Iâm set!!â
JF and Telluria are only part of the puzzle though.
If for example I was pretty new and pulled either of them, certainly my potential to be great would be there but it still means finding the other heroes to do titans and war etc. Mats too of course. Not finished yet!
Whereas for someone like me, with a fairly established roster after 2 years of playing, pulling JF or Telluria would probably make a huge difference if I lucked out as I have no rockstar heroes.
As we all know, itâs quite unlikely I can expect to pull either so letâs see how we go
I take it they arenât being nerfed so looks like everyone is going to go berserk in those months
A good player makes good use of heroes
Good heroes donât make a good player
There are âcompetitiveâ players do fine without the shiney heroes everyone lusts over
But there are plenty that have those heroes and still suck
Indeed 100%
Which is the point @DoctorStrange has been making for some time now.
A superstar hero increases your margin for error, perhaps somewhat significantly, but a good player can get around it for sure*
*so long as there arenât too many OP hotms
The ammount of debate is against that conclusion as the number of debaters who are against that conclusion is far larger.
I agree with your first paragraph. Offering an outstanding HOTM every once in a while is great.
However, I do disagree with your second assertion - that JF is not a game changer. I think heâs quite OP as he is now and is not so much outstanding as broken.
Zephyr has pointed out the War Defense concern, and other have already stated how the AI is really bad in utilizing cleanse.
I donât have GM nor any other strong DOT hero but I raid a lot using Proteus and always see the AI firing Rigard or Zim as soon as they are charged, with no consideration of the attacker firing immediately after. JF vs rigid AI defense will almost certainly be a JF victory.
If they release him as is, Iâm certainly pulling for him - but would rather he be a bit more balanced.
Heâll probly be released as is and Iâm sure some of those advocating in favor of that will be the same ones complaining about it when they donât have him lol
Think people forget that just cause a hero is released doesnât mean theyâll get him so arguing in favor of releasing a broken hero for personal gain typically isnât a great idea
May the gods of RNG favor us all.
LOL yes. I made well over 100 pulls in December and didnât get a single Grimble. Not that I was pulling for him specifically but he would have been nice to have, and the odds were that I would get at least one.
That could easily be JF in February.
Exactly. I look forward to the interesting reads in february/march from those that donât get him and act as Iâm some kind of monster for saying âi told you soâ in my own colorful ways lol. But forum lost info value a long time ago, itâs just entertainment these days. About as bad as tv wrestling.
As for having cleansers, I have several. Yes, most high level players will at least have a few Rigard, maybe even a Zim and a costumed Sonia. Contrary to @zephyr1 's argument that we will run out of cleanses in wars (though often true), the largest factor is that you cannot expect to have these cleansers ready at the desired time. That is simply not how the game works. If youâre going to assume that your specials are charged when you need them, forget bringing a cleanser, just bring a Eve+Lianna(s) to kill the enemies before they can fire. Clearly this is unreasonable, and for the exact same reason that assuming a cleanse will necessarily be ready at the correct time to counter Jean, but cognitive dissonance seems to be preventing anti nerf advocates from even entertaining that notion much less addressing it
You mean specials arenât ready exactly when you need them?
You must be doin somethin wrong cause these other guys have instaspecials whenever they want
To those who argue that JF need to be OP for new players who do not have GM:
-
GM will appear again at Atlantis Portal next year.
-
The answer to OP hero is not to release another OP hero nor to nerf down that hero but to release easily acquired counter to that OP hero.
Yup every hero comes back around
Letâs just wait and see how this hero comes out. We donât need another Margaret, Neith or Anzogh. But, SG full well knows a lot of people will drop some coin for a top notch hero. Itâs best to have a plan-save your rings lol
Well, as stated many times before, the main concern about JF is that he may be a tad too powerful on offense - not something that could easily be fixed with counters. Speaking of counters, we already have heroes such as Grazul, Zimmy, Ariel, and plenty of other clensers. As he has no initial damage, if you have any of these heroes ready, on defense JFâs damage will become completely nullified. I am reluctant to speculate anything more at this point, since, without any experience with him, I dont know where that DoT sweetspot lies and it seems just too easy to make another useless junk out of potentially good hero (remember Neith). Nevertheless, I hope SG will succeed in finetuning this hero in a way to make him appealing enough to justify spending gems and mats on him and not make him gamebreaking (if, in fact, he isâŠ) at same time.
Lol
You mean those 3 heroes you named that are only available for a limited time at ridiculous odds⊠yea we forgot Everyone has those! Doh! What were we thinkinâŠlol
I am speaking about GM counterâŠ
And I address that to those who claim JF need to be OP for new players who do not have GM.
They are not easily acquired.
Rigard, Sonya costume, VivicaâŠ
