Don’t get too attached
Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.
It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.
So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.
The Pet dragon color is tied to the offer type.
You can see them in the screenshot.
I would prefer a cheaper version without a builder, which I don’t need as all of my buildings are maxed.
( At least until Dominion of Dragons eventually arrives and performs it’s reset of years of progress. )
Did they remove the 365-day offer? I see only “get 30 days” on the beta pictures.
Also, what happens if you already have the standard VIP pass active and you want to upgrade to the premium one? Do you need to wait for your current pass to expire or you can buy 30 days of the premium one and all your remaining time on the current one becomes premium VIP? I guess once you have the premium VIP, you can only buy the premium one to extend it or gotta wait for it to expire to get back to the standard one (would make sense this way) but what exactly when going the other way?!
Let say I have tens or hundreds of days left on the standard VIP pass when this feature is enabled, if we cannot upgrade straight away, it’s pretty lame for the loyal VIP members…
That is not going to be fair to a player with normal VIP and then purchase the premium. To get premium perks without interruption, that player will need to keep renewing the Premium VIP, while still having unused portions of regular VIP.
Zynga should consider allowing an upgrade fee for players in this situation.
Ok so at least we don’t need to wait for the current standard pass to expire, it could have been this bad/the worst but it’s far from the best as outlined by @BlackZed above.

Can you ask whether they will keep the 365-day offer in the live game or they’re really discontinuing it too??
Yes. Any vip pack with more than 30 days left at the launch of upgraded Standard/Premium VIP, will get a free upgrade to Premium for the remainder of the existing Current VIP pack purchased.
As @Mikal has pointed out, it’s suspect why Zynga is phasing out annual VIP packages.
If you still want to proceed, please do so with open eyes.
Worst case scenario: if this game folds within a year, you should get a refund for the remainder of your annual VIP pack if you purchased it IAP. AG protects their players.
Depends heavily on where in the world you are, who you paid (Zynga direct or via Google/Apple) and how you paid, i.e. debit or credit card and which one.
Zynga needs to give minimum 30 days notice to players if they want to pull the plug. Players will get emails from Apple/Google on the impending closure and that IAP sales will be suspended at least 30 days from date of closure.
I know cos I have received said emails from Apple for different games in the past. It’s part of the TnC for AG hosting.
Refunds will be effected once closure email is sent to players, depending on type of purchase and if purchase is made via AG.
I never received any refunds cos I usually buy gems and those can be used during the notice period. Subscriptions should receive a partial refund.
It’s up to Zynga’s business integrity for WS purchases.
Not doubting that. But there’s lots of “if” in your statement. You’ll also need to purchance an electron microscope to find Zynga’s integrity.
The notice email ? There’s no if for that. That’s mandated by AG TnC. Minimum 30 days notice and IAP will be suspended. There’s no if.
Which AG purchases get refund? Subscriptions (that includes VIP) will get a partial refund if subscriptions expire after closure date. There’s no if for that.
Unlikely to get refund for gems and items. Players will have that notice period to use those items up. If it’s 30 days and players have a huge stockpile,
