What’s up with the new Springvale heroes having negative affects like the old?? Is this a family joke?

Springvale looks for me like poor man’s Shrikewood.

  • no compass/gloves

  • 74 flags to burn just to get ETT on Easy

  • 134 flags to burn just to get EHT and Sturdy Shield on Normal

  • 91 flags to burn (and 10 stages of carpet bombing) just to get another Sturdy Shield + another 103 flags to burn if you are able to carpet bomb your way for a single Mysterious Tonic (80% of the players)

  • the rest of rewards are just a joke

  • during Shrikewood you get a Shield and a Tonic for just 60 flags and easily done by 3000 TP squad
For me no good rewards disqualifies Springvale as fun, it is just another flag burning grind.

Then feel free not to do it.

Frankly, I’ll happily take the extra trainers, tokens, avatars, and miscellaneous other rewards.

I hope my 3-2 of Wilbur, Sumi, Kelile, Rigard and Proteus can get me that tonic. Cause man I need it if I am gonna power level Telluria after I finish Kingston.

@MagicManJordy That is the theme with these heroes, insane benefits with insane drawbacks. If you pair them with heroes that block any ailments like Grazul or Gato for example then you’re fine. Same principle with pairing Danza with Poseidon to block the mana stop.

Proteus is the easy button for these events.

@Zathrus True, I kinda have lot more green five stars than I expected to have. Once I pulled Telluria she got bumped to the front of the queue after Kingston gets to 4-80 (he is at 4-57 rn). So I am trying to get as many static Tonics as I can.

Correct
 Unique Family :trophy:
At least the family bonus does not have negative effect

Bonus for 2/3 Heroes: +10%/+20% attack

This isn’t strictly true

If you can currently beat Strikewood without carpet bombing you’ll make it thru Springvale pretty comfortably too.

The usual advice applies:

  1. Stack your colours
  2. Make sure all specials are ready to go before moving on to the next round
  3. Dont start the boss round without a bunch of strong tiles on the board.

Springvale isn’t just grinding. There’s fun music and Easter egg tiles that really shake the gameplay up. I don’t think it’s at all boring.

With new stages, may hope it will last for 4 weeks?

Can someone please explain “carpet bomb” to me. I haven’t come across this before in the forum (yes, I am newer to it). The connotation I would infer of this expression from my tiny corner of the globe would be less than pleasant.
Thanks!

In this context, “carpet bombing” refers to using a lot of battle items (Dragon attacks, bomb attacks etc) to kill the bosses. It can be a viable strategy when your heroes aren’t quite strong enough, though obviously it’s very resource heavy.

To expand on @aer3’s comment, it tends to mean that you bring 5x each of arrows, axes, bombs, and dragons. When you do that you can often cause enough damage to kill the whole boss level without having to use many, if any, tiles.
