(It might look like I missed some because of the formatting I did, but I just didn’t duplicate the bottom row on a couple of the screenshots)
The top level of the first pic is my current defense in the normal configuration but with the layout of:
Lianna - Drake – Elena – Richard – Sartana
I’m leveling Azlar (just cuz he was the only 5* red I had before getting the others) and Zeline at the 4th level. Victor is leveling, but will be stuck at 3rd level since I don’t have the materials for a purple ascension. Same for Hanitra – will level to 3rd but will have to wait for 4th until I have the materials for a yellow ascension. I do have enough for another Blue or Red. I used up my Tonics on Zeline and have only 2 Poison Darts and 3 Tabards. I have plenty of of Damascus Blades but only 1 Tome of Tactics, so can only do one more 5* ascension until I get more Tomes. One other item to note, I’ve been saving my Underworld coins – I’m waiting for a bit longer until “all” of the new Season 4 5* heroes are available. Or maybe until Elizabeth is a featured draw in the summons (she’s the one I hate going against the most right now). I know the odds are “unlikely” for a summons, but just throwing it out there… Lastly, I can limit break 1 each of the Red, Blue and Green 5* heroes. I’m 1 aether short for Purple and Yellow.
So, what do you folks think? Open to re-embleming and such and limit breaking as well.
I also have extra enough Aethers to limit break a few 4 or 3 star heroes and still be able to LB the 5*s. This is what I have right now in the format of Color – Aether III – Aether II – Aether I
Blue – 8 – 51 – 112
Green – 5 – 25 --61
Purple – 4 – 26 – 66
Red – 8 – 48 – 112
Yellow – 4 – 25 – 67
I guess that would be the last question – who would you update? or wait?
I wouldn’t break any blue maybe Baldur for red and evelyn for green. When you get yellow do Fong and Purple I’d probably do Seshat over Sartana…but she needs more emblems. Also Hel is deserving, ascend her next
Why Evelyn? Not being able to really use the Green Defense Down (since there are no other Green heroes and no green tile damage since she’s on defense) was the reason I didn’t put her on defense. I was thinking of swapping Lianna for Zeline once Zeline is fully leveled and emblemed up.

I’m with you on the Blue.
I’d most likely skip Red as well - neither Baldur nor Grazul “do it” for me.
I think Evelyn for Green makes sense.
Drake as well for Yellow. I was also thinking to wait for Hanitra for the dodge ability… a question for the future I’m sure.
Purple is where I was the most conflicted. I figured it’d be Seshat for now.
I didn’t know to ascend Hel or C. Victor once I got the mats for a purple ascension.
Evelyn got one of the largest boosts from the annual HOTM bonus. Her paired with Drake Fong will give you +4% health for all heros for 6 turns, +5% attack and 5% defense to go along with the +15% defense the 2018 link itself gives.
I agree that Zeline is a great hero, but what is her elemental link? I think Evelyn has become elite when paired with the right hero. I have gone with an over 65% raid defensive win percentage since installed on defense keeping me around 2600 cups. Her and my GM aren’t as good as my Liz and Frigg, but still have done really well. Evelyn’s 4% heal for all (average of 70 health a turn or 420 over 6) has been a nice upgrade
Her (Zeline’s) elemental link has been updated fairly recently, I think…it’s now a 10% mana boost to all greens. This, of course, is changed to ALL heros if 2 or more 2018’s are used. Zeline is certainly a bit dated but I feel a little sentimental about her as she was my first HOTM pulled in early 2018, shortly after I started playing.
A bit late getting back to this thread… but you’re correct, it’s a 10% mana boost. If I stuck her in with Evelyn and Drake i’d have +20% defense plus the 10% mana (Zeline), +5% to attack and defense (Drake) and 4% health recovery (Evelyn) for all heroes.
